Operation Smiley Frankie Complete to Louisville, KY:)

June 9th, 2010 - 2:02 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Frankie on his way lovers…….

Well, the transport to Louisville went without a hitch! I tucked in our boy about 9:00 last night. He whimpered himself to sleep about 20 minutes later and slept through the night. Not a sound!

This morning at 5:15 he was up and Adam, ate a small bit of kibble, went potty, was loaded in the Basset Hauling Vehicle at approximately 5:27 when we pulled out of the drive way.

Despite the blinding, sideways rain with thunder and lighting we made it to our meeting spot right on time!

Frankie jumped out of the BHV, went potty…….

IMG_7044

took a brisk 10 minute walk and then I hooked him up to the BHV……

And his ride drove up……

He even had a traveling companion named Sweetie. She was pulled from a KY pound deep in Western KY by Connie the driver. Frank’s kennel is right next to hers!

And off they went, within in minutes of pulling up….

Have a great life Frankie! Keep in touch Frankie. We love you Frankie!

FABULOUS! What a happy, happy ending. How was he with getting in the other vehicle? Did he have a problem with leaving you? Poor thing. Makes you wonder what’s going through their minds with all the shuffling around.

Cindy – That is a perfect word, Shuffling! He went from the tree, to the pound, to the vet, to my house, and the list will go on. He seemed fine with it. Kind of excited for his new journey. He jumped right into the kennel. I probably missed him more than he missed me. Hehehehehehe

I think this is such a good sign of better things to come for “Our Frankie”.

Cathy, it takes a very very special person to be on the road at 5:30a.m. in bad weather to help a hound find a home.

    Thanks again.

Cindy–I was thinking the same thing–wonder what he is is thinking about this whole situation. He is a brave little guy, seems to really roll with the punches. Cat, thank you for bring these wonderful hounds and the fairy tail endings to all of us in cyberspace. I feel like I know them personally, Frankie, Homer, Trooper, etc. I’m glad you both had a safe trip; couldn’t have been a very relaxing drive thru that weather.

I can’t wait for the next Frankie update. I wonder how long it will take him to get a Jersey Shore bark.

Kip–I agree about feeling like Frank was my dog. Cat, I would have been a bucket of tears watching that red van drive away. But, at least we all know he will be happy and loved.

I’m happy and sad at the same time. I hope he finds a great home soon. I wish I had been there to give him a hug bye. 🙁 I really do hope to hear more news about him. In just a few short days he really touched my heart. I loved the Frank news. It was awesome. Now I have an empty spot in my heart but I’m so happy to see he was excited about his trip.
