Shadows creep into our smiles sometimes…..
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Shadow Lovers….
Who would have ever thought that a few shadows would inspire a blog posting???
Well, inspire they did. I was walking down the hallway, minding my own business when I stopped dead in my tracks and saw this.
Some long October shadows were casting through my kitchen window. I immediately recognized baby Emma. Right in the middle. She had already had her coming in from her potty treat but hope was springing eternal. Check out her cute shadow!
Did you notice the brass basset hound shadow?
This is the actual window seal.
I am not sure what the shadow was to the right. I have a little memorial to my Dad on that window seal. Shadows can be very sweet. I love looking at them.
More enjoying the long shadows of fall later….Cat, Chaps and Emma
P.S. Emma got another coming in from going potty treat! She has me wrapped around her little paw like a shadow! hehehe
OMD! The long shadow that I could not figure out might have been the Knight in Shining Armor on the seal. My Dad gave that to me. His Dad forged it from bronze. That is so sweet.
Sigh
I just love everything about Miss Emma. Even her shadow!
I am sure Our Emma’s shadow is even sweeter than Our Emma. But where’s Chaps?
I love shadows, too! “Where there is much light, the shadow is deep” ~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Emma casts a beautiful and shining light, that’s for certain!:)

Shadows are wonderful. Our bassets bark at the shadows the falling leaves cast, if they are just right. Don’t even get me started on squirrel shadows!
Cat, speaking of shadows….I always thought this shadow cartoon was amusing:
