Evelyn Leavens 9/25/24 – 4/3/13, Goodbye for now my dear and darling friend
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Evelyn Leavens Lovers. Well, I was certainly one of those.
Today one of my dearest friends in the world passed away.
Evelyn and I made friends with each other about a decade ago. Since our first conversation we kept in touch almost everyday. I will miss her beyond words.
This is a video I did in honor of Evelyn years ago. She was forever touched that I made it for her.
More missing and loving my Evelyn later…Cat, Daisy Lynn (Chaps and Emma ATB) with Boswell following along side her…
I know you will miss Evelyn a lot she was a true friend.
she will be missed in my neck of the woods..red bank is just one town over from me…so my little corner of the world just got a whole lot emptier..
so sorry for the loss…
god speed, safe passage & welcome home.
So sorry for you, Cat. So many good friends. you have been blessed.
I am so sorry Cat. 🙁
She had a great life and did exactly what she wanted to do. I will miss her but I am thrilled she lived her passion!
I remember you talking about her in past posts. I believe she was a very talented lady and a wonderful Basset enthusiast. I am she she will visit the bridge quite often and meet up with Boswell, Chaps, Lily, Emma, Chloe, and your father.
I am sure she will be missed by everyone she touched in her life.
Oh, how sad. But I’m glad she did exactly what she wanted to do. I’m so sorry for your loss Cat.
Sorry for the loss of your dear friend. I watched the video you made – she was very talented. She had a passion for life & what she did.
What a treasure! She had a wonderful talent and shared it with everyone. Your life is richer as a result. May that bring you comfort.
Evelyn sent me a picture of what turns out to be her last work of art 2 days before she died. She was painting and creating until her last days. She was doing some really nice abstract work with bright colors. I will post it at some point in the future. I am working on a sub-blog dedicated to her life and work.
Dear Cat
Lily and I are so sorry for your loss of such
a talented and great friend.
Our deepest sympathy,
Monnie

Hi Cat,
I am a former student of Evelyn & had just emailed
Back & forth with her 1 month before she passed.
I grew up in Monmouth County
Graduated RBC in Red Bank & presently live in
No. CA.
I was SO excited to reconnect with Evelyn this past
March 2013. I planned to visit her this summer.
Evelyn taught me most all I know about watercolor
& I credit her for inspiring me at the young age
Of 14/15 when I took summer lessons with her.
I will miss her dearly.
I would like to participate in someway to honor
her memory,
Please contact me if I can contribute to what
you may be putting together in her memory.
She rocked my world & is the one artist/mentor
I attribute to my life as a professional artist.
You may visit my website & view another

I have one of her elephant drawings that she
gave me in HS.
I love the video you made!
Thank you for that visual memory & the
Bruce on audio.
Many Blessings,

Dear Cat,
Thank you for your kind words about Ev. She was my teacher, mentor, and dear beloved friend. I’d like to return to NJ to pay my respects, but don’t know where she is buried. If you happen to know, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, and all my best to you.
Sabina
Sabina – I do not know where she is buried but I am sure I can find out. I would also like to visit her resting place some day. Thank you for your comment!
