Waddle Bound – a poem by Ken Johnson

April 19th, 2007 - 5:05 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound Lovers: I am sharing this wonderful poem by Ken Johnson. He is a Suncoast volunteer and Dad to Buster and Lemon Drop! It just makes me think how sweet our community is. From the East to the South, from the West to the North and all combinations in between, we love our hounds. Ken wrote the poem with FL in mind, but it applies to any waddle! Please enjoy, and watch for Chaps’ announcement this weekend about our friend, Ken. Slurp!

Waddle Bound

I’m Waddle Bound, I’m a Basset Hound

Gonna strut my stuff and show em sure enough

We’ll have some fun in the warm Florida sun

As the parade forms up I’m feeling like a pup

Look at all the treats and Basset sweets

We’ll all march around the waddle ground

With waggon tails and howls galore

We all end up at the rescue store

Look at the T-shirts, look at the cap

Let’s all buy some Basset crap

By the end of the day I’m looking for a place to lay

Then Dad packs us up, puts the van in gear,

And I woof out the window “see yall next year”.
