Bassethoundtown.com is celebrating this fantastic accomplishment with a gallery opening of some of the artist’s works. The title of our show is:

Evelyn Leavens – Creations of Passion

It is with great pleasure and honor that I introduce, my idol, Ms. Evelyn Leavens.

Ms. Leavens is a well known artist that works in many mediums. Her talent is gigantic and you “dear reader” are in for a special treat. Ms. Leavens is known to many of the residents of basset hound town as the author and illustrator of the incredibly successful children’s book Boswell’s Life of Boswell. The book went to number 2 on the New York Times best seller list in 1958. You will now experience the shear enjoyment of her other art work that spans the decades of her 82 years.

You will see many of her works hanging all over this site. You can start with this Blog. View the video and then click on her website via my links page for the full show. We will be honored to feature many, many more of Ms. Leavens upcoming works.

I am in the process of buying another Boswell piece from Ms. Leavens.

Howllo Fellow Hound Lovers: We here, in the region of the world are very pround of our Zoo. We have just made history with the unprecedented birth of a third Rhino Calf. The baby boy weighed the exact same, at birth, as Chaps, your Mayor. That just cracked me up. I called him little Rhino baby all day. This video is of Mom and baby on the day of birth. The first 5 seconds are her actually having the baby, just in case you might think that is too much for you??? Anyway, the rest of the clip is totally precious and the baby actually stands on it’s first day greeting the world and his fans. More Later…Cat, Chaps and Emma

P.S. There was a naming contest, (of course). The Mommy’s name is Emi, pronounced Em-ee. I submitted, Embe. Prounounced MB, also stands for Mommy’s Boy. How cute is that?

These gals are showing off their stuff! The first 2 pictures are of Tatiane. The third tatoo is on Isabel. How much fun are these gals? As I have said, I wish I could have the Mayor tatooed on my back, but I am too much of a wimp. I love art work, Tatiane and Isabel rock!

Howllo Fellow Hound Lovers: Meet my new friend Karen with Lucky Cleverson! He is Amanda’s Hound! Amanda is a friend of Karens’.

I met Karen on YouTube. She loves her bassets, Leopoldo, Abigail and Echolake. (What a fantastic name)! She said that they are her reason to live.

I must say, I know the feeling.

I will be posting pictures of her hounds very soon.

Karen lives in a city called Porto Alegre, the capital of Rio Grande do Sul which is in the South of Brazil, near Uruguay. They are BIG lovers of bassets in Brazil. Now she lives in bassethoundtown.
