Basset Hound Rescues a must read!

August 5th, 2007 - 5:05 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and basset rescue lovers: Please take a minute to look at your specific link, on my links page, for your rescue. I review my website hosting statistics page every day. More and more folks are logging on to this website to search for basset hound rescue links. I can tell because they type basset hound rescue into a main search engine. These engines have me in their list as a match.
🙂 🙂

I click on all of the rescue links every month to make sure nothing has changed, but I might have you listed covering just one state, and you may cover sections of other states. Just make sure you are happy with your link.

Also, if you do not see your rescue site notify me and I will add it. You have to be a basset hound rescue.

My site is public and a good way for anyone who wants to rescue a basset hound to get information quickly and effectively. I know there are other sites with basically the same lists. If you are reading this blog rest assured, I will do my best to keep this list current. If you are reading this and looking for a basset hound to rescue, THANK-YOU! Feel free to contact me via the contact page if you have any questions. I will be happy to assist you. All e-mails are returned promptly.

Emma on Bath day

Well, there you have it folks. I am totally bummed out that I cannot go. If I could do anything in the world today it would be to go to this event. If I lived within a five hour drive I would go. I would also need to stay in the guest room, because I would not drive home. Heck, I probably would never leave. Slurp! More Later…Cat, Chaps and Emma

Special Needs: Has only 3 legs
Description:
Jeremiah is a stray from Louisville, KY. He is a complete lovebug who sleeps between his foster parents at night and spends a lot of time wrestling with his foster brother Walter (a coonhound.) Jeremiah is red and white, with his red being the darker mahogany color. He is housebroken but does not like crates. Walks well on a leash, but often can’t go far distances. Gets along well with children and loves other dogs. If you can’t tell in the pictures, Jeremiah only has 3 legs! He may be disabled but he is not handicapped; he can get on the couch by himself and can chase Walter around the yard like the wind. As a plus he can’t counter-cruise or jump on people! Has no trouble going up and down stairs, either. He lost his leg as a result of being hit by a car, so he MUST have a fenced yard. Being 3-legged does NOT slow him down at all and he WILL take off if not leashed!

Please go take a look at him and all the other KY Lovers looking for you.

Hellow Fellow Hound and five dollar bill lovers: Recently we received a five dollar bill for Lily’s basset bucks with the website, www.wheresgeorge.com printed on it. We thought it would be totally kewl to track it.

The donation was from Diane, Molly, Sam, and Roxie. They had read a blog posting where I suggested that you give up one star”bucks” and send us Lily”bucks” instead. Here is their donation!

So, what I am going to do is replace this five spot with one of my own and send this one on it’s way. I will make a note on it to PLEASE report it’s progress. I am hoping someone really philanthropic sees it and donates to Lily’s basset bucks this year. It could be really fun! I will make sure to track it and keep all of our residents posted.

Special thanks go out to Diane, Molly, Sam and Roxie! You guys are our first link in random acts of canine five dollar bill kindness! Slurp….More Later….Cat, Chaps and Emma

Arizona Basset Hound Rescue’s August 2007 Featured Hound(s)!

August 1st, 2007 - 4:04 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and AZ lovers:

I just received this update from AZBHR and they have the following announcement.

Presenting
~ 9 Bouncing Bundles of Joy ~

Arizona Basset Hound Rescue’s
August 2007 Featured Hound(s)!

This month Arizona Basset Hound Rescue is pleased to feature a 2 litters puppies (9 total) and their moms! All 11 pooches came to us from deplorable conditions of feces covered ground, no food, and no water in sight as we approached our summer of 100+ temperatures.

Talk about a good moms! These ladies, Tess and Ears, kept those puppies alive just long enough to be rescued by AZBHR.

The summer has brought us many hounds in need and has found us, in the rescue business, busier than ever! If you know anyone looking to make a forever home for a great pooch or two, recommend they fill out an adoption application right away! Donate to AZBHR www.firstgiving.com/bowlarama2007 and help to fund the puppies and their mom’s medical expenses and care.

As always, thank you for your continued support and generosity!

Sincerely,

Cindy Mahon
Adoption Coordinator
Arizona Basset Hound Rescue

P. S. We still need Foster Homes with our high intake numbers (over 100 dogs so far).
Meet the Moms…
A Mother’s love is forever!

Hi, I’m Tess! A big “Thank You” to AZBHR for saving me, my daughter Ears and all of our puppies. Sadly one passed to the Rainbow Bridge before we were saved, but AZBHR got to the rest of us just in time! I am 6 years old and have been outside most of my life so I am currently working on my indoor manners. I have tested positive for Valley Fever and am taking medication for it. My basset nose knows where the people food is, so I do have a tendancy to counter surf! I am good with a doggie door which allows me to go outside and potty all on my own. I ride in the car and walk on a leash well. I love to be near you, but I am not pushy about it. I would love to have a forever family now…won’t you please bring me home!?

310.jpg

Hi, I’m Ears and they tell me I am 4 years old. I am SO beautiful but my picture just doesn’t do me justice. I have tons of freckles and I LOVE attention. I really don’t like anyone to leave me! I am good with a doggie door but I need some work on my indoor manners. Don’t worry, though, I am a good learner so it won’t take long at all before I’ll be prim and proper indoors! I’m not too good in the car as I like to sit in the drivers lap!! I do walk on a leash but I am very strong and would not be good with small children. I always knew I’d be a great lap dog, so my favorite thing is to sit in your lap and watch TV. With a firm hand and lots and lots of love I will be the most devoted companion you have ever seen!!! Please give me a forever home with lots and lots of tummy rubs! UPDATE: Lucky me, I’ve already been spoken for, but I hope you’ll consider taking in one of my pups!

See all the Puppies here!

Also, you can donate to AZBHR and help to fund the puppies and their mom’s medical expenses and care.

Thanks for the update Cindy. The pups are so cute and Tess can really steal a human’s heart. Ears is so lucky to have found a home. Please keep up posted and I hope you get alot of donations.
