Howllo Fellow Hound and old Hound lovers: Dawn of Daphneyland was updating me on some BaRNI intakes. I don’t know how she does it. I can’t keep track, and I know I got some of this wrong. Dawni, please e-mail me with corrections or additions.
They had 11 intakes last with with a 13 1/2 year old OTI arriving this Monday.
Dawn states,
“Got a basset – spuds mckenzie mixed pup on Wednesday, a pair of 3 year olds from a local acton person loosing their home on Thursday, a senior bagel from Coachella Valley on Thursday via transport, Jill Peterson brought us the Wasco basset last night. This morning we’re expecting:
Sleepy at the airport via the Alsups
A shelter mix up has a young english pointer headed our way who will be networked thru Life 4 Paws
A pair of 9 &10 year olds that are being transported from Fresno via Valerie Epps and the Kuwahara Team.
Then there is a very sad girl…. no name as of yet that Kerri is grabbing out of Riverside and driving up…. photo will make you cry…..”
Kerri and Jade (her daughter) arrived with windows open – A/C on high.
Biscuit was in the back, -2- potty accidents and she refused to lay down the whole drive… it was about a 2 hour transpot.
Into the tub immediately, she went thru:
Antimicrobial bath (hair is falling out in huge clumps – abuse thru burns as well as infection)
Skin conditioner
Vitamin C treatment
Pure Aloe
Homepathics beyond belief…..
Kerri and Jade helped triage her in and she has such attitude she’s telling me off the whole time.
Refused pig ears thank you very much, but wanted ham slices.
We had 5 intakes today……
And its dinner time……
Stay tuned…Dawni
(Sleepy – Mitch was transported in by the alsups via a car ride)
A long day, getting longer all the time
Hugs
Dawni
P.S…….
Dawn states, “Last night found us with -2- more email alerts, both are pairs of seniors dumped at shelters…. one pair in No Cal are mixes, the pair in Orange County are pures……..
We need a senior center!!!!! Yesterday!!!”
I hear ya Dawni! Let’s all keep the dream alive.
Howllo Fellow Hound Lovers: Here we are again. This day just brings back awful memories. The images were so shocking. I was in the kitchen fixing breakfast for Chloe and Lily. Yes, the only fond memory I have of that day. It really brings me comfort. I remember hearing Katie Couric saying that a small plane may have just hit the world trade center, then I saw the look on Matt Lauer’s face as he was receiving information through his ear piece as he glanced at Katie. I saw both of them turn gray and they went to commercial. I will never forget that. How sad.
Where were you?
Howllo Fellow Hound and watching your wallet lovers!
Well, tonight is Monday night football and it is LIVE from Cincinnati. I just heard on the news, that the average cost for a group of 4 to attend is 1000 dollars. WHAT? Yes you heard me right. I said AVERAGE! I was floored! Any comments? Maybe, I just don’t get it???????????
I think it is more fun to stay at home and watch hounds “Running out back“!
Abby heading for the touchdown, Colby Chaps ready to tackle!
Priceless. Slurp!
More Later…Cat, Chaps and Emma
P.S. If you click the picture, the wording is wrong. Abby, never headed for rescue. She is firmly entrenched in her forever home with Colby Chaps.
Howllo Fellow Hound Lovers: This might be of interest to some of you, it was to me. I guard my address book like a Mother Basset Hound so I was glad to learn the following.
I received an invitation to join a basset hound group/network, from a friend of mine. I was curious, so I e-mailed her with some questions. She told me not to open the invitation from this company called QUECHUP. What happens is, if you join this group, QUECHUP, or others like them, have the ability to go through your address book and send invitations to everyone in your name. Just check first before you join any online groups.
I belong to many basset groups. I thought this was just another one. It was not! BEWARE FELLOW HOUND LOVERS!
More Later…Cat, Chaps and Emma
Howllo Fellow Hound and Ricky lovers: Look what I have! It is an audition tape from Ricky. He lives at the House of Puddles. He thinks he would be a good talking basset for bassethoundtown.com’s home page. Well, Ricky, you are a good talker indeed. Chaps and I will consider your request. It is very convincing.
OK, Ricky steals some hearts!
Ricky from the House of Puddles wants a job at bassethoundtown.com!
Oh by the way, you have to visit Ricky’s page on Marilyn’s website it is tooooo cute. RICKY’S PAGE

It is always such a pleasure for me to get pictures of Chaps’ only son. It is also so much fun to hear Audra tell stories about her hounds and the hounds of her Mom and Dad. We feel very blessed to know each other. Thanks for these great photos Audra. I am honored to be a part of your family. Love, Cat, Daddy, and Emma
