October 26th, 2007 - 5:05 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and KY Hound Lovers: Tomorrow, October 27, 2007 is the Bluegrass Basset Hound Rescue Picnic. Here is the update, Susan, the director sent to me!

Just a reminder only one more day before the Bluegrass Basset Rescue Picnic to be held in Hopkinsville! Email me at froggie0310@bellsouth.net if you need directions, etc.. Parking can be found in the Hopkinsville Middle School parking lot on Koffman St (google our address of 133 S. Sunset Circle and you can see Koffman on the map.) $5 gets you in for lunch of Kentucky homemade BBQ, slaw, potato salad, beans, chips, soda and dessert! Bassets get in free!! In case of rain, we’ll just move indoors! There’s nothing here a basset could harm 🙂 **If you have any of those fold-up camping chairs, please bring them along!** Seating outdoors will be at a premium!

Thanks to all who purchased raffle tickets! If you’d like some, check out the raffle packs on our website at www.bluegrassbassetrescue.org (left side, bottom) and click PayPal to purchase! Deadline is Midnight Friday!!!

Also, in other BGBR news, they have a new guy named Griffon. This guy is just delightful!

Susan states, “Griffon, a big red and white whose owner surrendered him to the Humane Society because he didn’t have enough time for him (as if the folks at the HS had a lot to give him either??) Well, Griff thinks the Basset 500 is THE game to play–even if no one plays with him! He loves to run around the house 🙂 He is housebroken and is as big as our Murphy–a tall 60 pounder! The kids think he makes Murphy look small (and that’s funny because Otter made him look HUGE since Otter only weighed 33 lbs!) He was visited a few times by the Freckle Fairy. He’s a great dog and up for adoption, so grab this guy while you can! Come to the picnic and meet him!!!

Susan

Thanks Susan, he sure is a cutie. I would like to grab him alright, and give him a big kiss.

I will not be at the picnic. It is a five hour drive (maybe six knowing me) from my home. It is just too far this year, but I hope to make it next year! Thanks for all you do, Bluegrass, my hometown heros!

Thanks, Cat, Chaps and Emma!! Looks like the yard will be a mess so the party’s set to come inside. Still bring chairs if you have them! I’m cleaning up as best I can now that we’re moving indoors–excuse my house! We still aren’t all unpacked from when we moved here 6 mos ago because of renovations that have to take place (can anyone say “paneling circa 1965?!”)so ignore the boxes, please!!

    Susan:)

Susan, I am sure everyone will just be loving on all the hounds. You do so much for the hounds and we love you for that. Have a great time today and make lots of money for the fur babies! Slurp, Cat, Chaps and Emma
