Howllo Fellow Hound and rescue lovers: I just found this on YouTube. Comments? Well, the artist check in with bassethoundtown.com and you can read her comments below. I did not add several comments because they were no longer relevant. I have e-mailed those people Elin’s good response.
This was my original comment:
I was kind of wondering why the artist did not contact Basset Hound Rescue in her area, instead of “hoping” the rescue would find the hound??? Strange.

Howllo Fellow Hound and Lucien Lovers: This is my very good hound friend Lucien. His Mommy is Melynda and loves helping out at the
House of Puddles.
Here is her video of her boy Lucien barking if you quit petting him. I suggested that she hire a full time petting person when she is at work. That should not cost too much? Come on Melynda! TeHeeeeeeee
Lucien, you are the love machine!

Howllo Fellow Hound Lovers: This video is just awesome. I love wyllieohagan’s basset videos. They say:
Spot the dog amongst the leaves. She’s in there somewhere.
Enjoy the Autumn.
Thank you for such a cute and fun video!

Also, in other BGBR news, they have a new guy named Griffon. This guy is just delightful!
Susan states, “Griffon, a big red and white whose owner surrendered him to the Humane Society because he didn’t have enough time for him (as if the folks at the HS had a lot to give him either??) Well, Griff thinks the Basset 500 is THE game to play–even if no one plays with him! He loves to run around the house 🙂 He is housebroken and is as big as our Murphy–a tall 60 pounder! The kids think he makes Murphy look small (and that’s funny because Otter made him look HUGE since Otter only weighed 33 lbs!) He was visited a few times by the Freckle Fairy. He’s a great dog and up for adoption, so grab this guy while you can! Come to the picnic and meet him!!!
Susan
Thanks Susan, he sure is a cutie. I would like to grab him alright, and give him a big kiss.
I will not be at the picnic. It is a five hour drive (maybe six knowing me) from my home. It is just too far this year, but I hope to make it next year! Thanks for all you do, Bluegrass, my hometown heros!

Howllo Fellow Hound Lovers:
I got this e-mail last night from Devon. This organization is certainly pitching in and helping CA dogs that are in need a place to land until the owners can find their own shelter.
Here it is:
Dear Friends:
As you know, my passion is dogs! My wife and I started
New Leash On Life Animal Rescue, a nonprofit organization, 10 years ago and we have been rescuing and rehabilitating dogs and placing them into permanent homes with great success.
The fires that have engulfed Santa Clarita and the rest of California have prompted us to open the New Leash On Life E.R.A Center to small animal evacuees. Any person who has had to evacuate who has small animals are welcome to bring their pets to New Leash On Life where we will care for them (at no charge) until they are able to go back home.
If you have friends or family living in Santa Clarita, please let them know that we are available to help. They should call New Leash On Life at 661-255-0097 for more information.
How You Can Help:
Volunteers are needed at the E.R.A. Center to help care for the animals that are staying with us. If you have crates that we can borrow, please bring them to the E.R.A. Center located at 16742 Placerita Canyon Rd. Newhall, CA 91321. We would appreciate donations of Wellness dog food as well.
The extreme winds have reeked some havoc on our out door play yards and some kennels which will require some repair. Any monetary donations are much appreciated. To donate, call New Leash On Life or Click Here.
Thank you!
Bobby Dorafshar

Howllo Fellow Hound Lovers: Here is a list of shelters that are taking in pets. Please pass this to your other lists. There will be computers and internet service set up at most shelter areas and folks can log on and get this information. They will most likely be checking their favorite canine board for information.
VCA Animal Hospitals announced today that local SOUTHERN California VCA
facilities are offering free boarding for companion animals whose
families have been evacuated or displaced as a result of the current
firestorms. Conveniently located VCA animal hospitals will provide a
safe environment for pets that have been affected by the fires through
November 5, 2007 on a space available basis.
As thousands of families are being evacuated to shelters or facing the
loss of their homes, VCA hopes to ease their burden by offering free
boarding for pets so they can focus on the critical issues with their
families and homes,? said Art Antin, Chief Operating Officer of VCA
Animal Hospitals.

Howllo Fellow Hound and fund-raising offer lovers: Emma has a new offer for Arizona Basset Hound Rescue. It is our exclusive Southwestern style collar. I designed the collar because I could not find a soft leather collar with style. I picked saddle quality leather and found a leathercraft person to make it for me. Each one is unique and will only be offered on Bassethoundtown.com.
The collars are on sale for 50.00. If you purchase one, 20.00 will go to AZBHR in your name.

Howllo Fellow Hound and Arizona Basset Hound Rescue lovers:
Welcome to bassethoundtown’s theater presentation for the night. I have made a video of the hounds that are just as beautiful and bright as the painted desert of the Southwest. All of the hounds in this video are looking for the person who is looking for them. They cannot do it on their own, so the wonderful people of AZBHR step in. These fine folks have helped find forever homes for over 900 dogs since 1998. You deserve a round of applause and a chorus of howling.
Please go to their website. You may not be able to adopt a hound, but you can sure help one that is not adoptable.
This is Maggie Moo. Kip and Gus sponsor her.
Well, sit back and enjoy the show. Music by Rascal Flatts.
(musical selection inspired by Devon, many of these hounds are seniors!)
