Howllo Fellow Hound and AZBHR Lovers: As you can see this is Maggie Moo.
Hi I am Maggie Moo. My foster mom said to tell you that I am a sweet senior girl with some very bad eyes. Besides the red tissue tissue that you see (they said that contains a benign tumor) I have a tumor behind my right eye that is suspected to be a very aggressive form of cancer.
I have been taken to the doggie doctor and they are trying to help my sore ears and my bad eyes and to keep me out of pain. I have to have an operation on my right eye. That sounds scary but my foster mom said I would be ok and that the doctor would be real gentle.
I’m a little slow getting up as my old joints are a bit creaky, but I like to go into the yard and even take short walks on a leash. I like doggie treats and take them real gently. My favorite thing of all is tummy rubs!!! Oh my how I like my big ol’ white tummy rubbed. You could do that all day!
I was very scared when Arizona Basset Hound Rescue first took me into their care. I didn’t understand what happened to my old family or why they didn’t want me any more. My new foster mom is helping me to not be scared and I am getting used to my new dog brothers and sisters and there is even a cat or two
here!
I am one lucky girl!
NOTE….AFTER SEEING THIS FEATURED ON BASSETHOUNDTOWN.COM
Kip Massett and his family became angels. He also bought Maggie Moo an exclusive bassethoundtown.com collar. He said, “A pretty girl needs to be more pretty.”
Kip and his family are true angels for Maggie Moo helping her along her way.

Howllo Fellow Hound and Club lovers: I am a proud member of the Basset Hound Club of America.
I joined the BHCA in 1993 when I rescued Natalie from the pound.
I lost Natalie tragically to bloat very soon after adopting her. However, the moment I saw her I knew I was a basset hound person. I came home with her and researched everything basset. That is how I learned of the BHCA. I was hooked.
I love their publication, the Tally Ho, and throughly enjoy reading about the top notch AKC basset breeders who champion the basset hound. It is fascinating. The BHCA states,
“The Basset Hound Club of America was founded to encourage and promote quality in the breeding of pure-bred Basset Hounds and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection, to encourage the organization of local Basset Hound clubs in those areas where there are sufficient fanciers of the breed to meet the requirements of the American Kennel Club, and to assist them in their activities, to urge members and breeders to accept the Standard of the breed as approved by the American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which Basset Hounds should be judged, to do all in its power to protect the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows, field trials, obedience trials, and tracking tests, etc. and to conduct such events under the rules of the American Kennel Club. ” November 9, 2007
My big, big Mayor is a BoBac AKC champion!
Not only in the ring but in my heart!

Howllo Fellow Hound and eating out with your hound lovers:
How cool would it be to spend some time at this
Ritzy Resort, Neport Dunes? I must say, very cool! This resort is known for it’s award winning Back Bay Cafe and is now serving hounds as well!
The Back Bay Cafe has a dedicated al fresco space that’s situated along the outer perimeter of the restaurant and seats 20. Once the dogs and their guardians are seated and the party has ordered, food servers arrive with bowls of fresh water and a variety of treats including milk bones and Beggin’ Strips for the pets to enjoy! Kudos to you Back Bay Cafe!
I know where we would be this weekend if we lived in the area. Slurp!

Howllo Fellow Hound and Greenland Dog lovers:
I was shocked and appalled at how Matt Lauer reported about the dogs of Greenland on the TODAY show. He tells the viewers that these are the only dogs allowed in Greenland and by law they must remained chained out doors when they are not busting buns for humans. Then he goes on to say how he is afraid to turn his back on them. Is he so frozen his heart stopped?
If you cannot see the video let me tell you, Matt is totally clueless. It is so sad.
Many organizations are horrified at how these dogs are treated and are taking massive efforts to help these beautiful creatures.
I think the TODAY show turned their back, (just like Matt did) on the sled dogs of Greenland. They are trying to shed light on global warming and the dangers ahead, but what about the current and present abuse and neglect of these dogs? Do you have a comment or update. I am still googling and researching. I would love to hear from you. Several folks are commenting. Thank you.
Just heart breaking
