The hound actor’s guild goes on stike!

March 8th, 2008 - 5:05 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and union lovers: Well, Chaps and Emma are striking and I cannot cross the picket line. It is too cold to film a movie and I support them.

Of course, Emma is still not up to her movie star potential either. 3955

She did get a package in the mail that made her very happy! I will blog about that next next.

Chaps is ready for more school visits!

March 6th, 2008 - 10:10 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and visiting schools lovers. Chaps and I love to visit schools and the weather is getting better for us. I don’t like taking him in the ice and snow. With the spring coming we are looking forward to reading the Lily book to kids. Emma will be joining us this year as well. I know the kids will just love it.

Hallelujah fellow Hound and Idol lovers: This is the song that Randy and Simon were talking about tonight. The guy with the dreads sang it. Leonard Cohen actually wrote the song in 1984.

Chaps guides Emma….With his tail! Good Boy!

March 3rd, 2008 - 7:07 pm KY Time

Hi friends! Emma repawting in! Look how lucky I am! Chaps and I are a bonded pair and he seems to love his role as my guide. Here is what he does. He takes his rather large tail and wraps it around me like an arm. He flicks it several times on my side to warn me of my direction. I was just getting ready to bump into this chair when he showed me the way, (look how I am in mid step). Whew, that was close! Emma Rudert

Chaps is such a good boy and the wonderment of his skills are just awe inspiring. He also showed Emma to the window today for their barking routine. The Maltese who lives across the street is not allowed to linger after he goes potty. He must retreat to his home or else he hears the wrath of the Mayor and his side kick! Slurp!

Early morning Sunday with Emma 4:00am

March 2nd, 2008 - 7:07 pm KY Time

Emma Rudert pawing in! I had to go potty during the night and Mommy has been getting up with me. However, this morning at 4:00am I did it all by myself! I went from the living room, down the hall and out the doggie door, (Mommy was listening)! Clank, Clank the doggie door sounded as I went out. 5 minutes later, Clank, Clank the doggie sounded as I came back in. I got a huge drink of water and crawled back in bed with Mommy and Chaps. I had water all over my face from my drink and so did Mommy from those salty things!

I really want to make Mommy proud! I think I did it! Slurp..Emma

Your funny for the night! LOL

March 1st, 2008 - 5:05 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and Saturday night needing a funny lovers: This was sent to me by Devon awhile back and I just ran across it again. I needed a good laugh!

Please help! After two long years of being on a waiting list for a
dog, we have been notified by breed rescue that, at long last, our
number has come up and … WE ARE HAVING A PUPPY!

We must get rid of our children IMMEDIATELY because we just know how
time consuming our new little puppy is going to be and it just
wouldn’t be fair to the children. Since our little puppy will be
arriving on Monday we MUST place the children up for adoption this
weekend!

They are described as:
One male — his name is Tommy, Caucasian (English/Irish mix), light
blonde hair, blue eyes. Four years old. Excellent disposition. He
doesn’t bite. Temperament tested. Does have problems with peeing
directly in the toilet. Has had chicken Pox and is current on all
shots. Tonsils have already been removed. Tommy eats everything, is
very clean, house trained and gets along well with others. Does not
run with scissors and with a little training he should be able to
read soon.

One female — her name is Lexie, Caucasian (English/Irish mix),
strawberry blonde hair, green eyes quite freckled. Two years old.
Can be surly at times. Non-biter, thumb sucker. Has been temperament
tested but needs a little attitude adjusting occasionally. She is
current on all shots, tonsils out, and is very healthy and can be
affectionate. Gets along well with other
little girls and little boys but does not like to share her toys and
therefore would do best in a one child household. She is a very
quick learner and is currently working on her house training.
Shouldn’t take long at all.

We really do LOVE our children so much and want to do what’s right
for them. That is why we contacted a rescue group. But we simply can
no longer keep them. Also, we are afraid that they may hurt our new
puppy.

I hope you understand that ours is a UNIQUE situation and we have a
real emergency here! They MUST be placed into your rescue by Sunday
night at the latest or we will be forced to drop them off at the
orphanage or along some dark, country road. Our priority now has to
be our new puppy.

Emma – Mommy is so proud!

March 1st, 2008 - 1:01 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and Emma lovers: Today is March 1st and it came in like a lamb in basset hound town. I took the gate off the porch so Chaps could go down to the patio since all of the ice had melted off of the steps. Down he went. He smelled around for awhile and decided that he was not missing too much and came back in and crawled back in bed for his morning nap. I was just getting ready to put the gate back up and out walks our Emma. She looked so sweet smelling the air and feeling the sun on her back. I told her I would help her down the steps.

IMG_0097_1.jpg

I turned my back to put the gate away and when I turned around she was going down the first step. There are 4 steps then a landing. Then another 4 steps and then the bottom. You have to turn a corner and then there are 4 more steps. Well folks she did the entire thing on her own. She got down to the bottom and went potty. She walked the perimeter and back up she came. Right down the hall and into bed with Chaps she went.

Mommy is so proud!
