Howllo Fellow Hounds and Dogs Deserve Better Lovers!
I link to this group on my Blogroll and Great Links. As you can see, if you click on the above link, we want dogs to be un-chained. Well, I just ran across this video on YouTube from the journey our girls are taking to unchain all states. The basset hounds in this video are not chained, but from a back yard breeder. The breeder does not even know how to spell BASSET.
I am a firm believer in unchaining dogs.

These people really don’t understand what they are doing do they? Cinder was a beautiful, sweet dog, yet they think it’s ok to cage her in a tiny wire crate, or tie her out on a piece of wire cable. Thanks for posting the video. The bassets were beautiful, and didn’t look too badly off, but again, why are they not part of a loving family? I do hope his “lawn ornaments” were a side business, and he didn’t mean the bassets would make good lawn ornaments!
Outside dogs have such a miserable existence…
Yes, the “AKC bassetts” looked better than some in BYB environments. I agree, that outside dogs have a miserable existence. Even worse being pregnant every time you go into heat. I love that the internet and people like Tammy Grimes are bringing this to our attention. She does a great job with DOGS DESERVE BETTER. Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
Thanks for posting this link. I had never heard of this organization and just visited the site and became a member. I also ordered some of their “gear” in hopes of getting the word out. I know of a chained Basset in my town. After receiving 3 visits from the sheriff’s department because of complaints from concerned neighbors, the people have now moved and taken the Basset with them. I can only hope that the poor baby is no longer chained up but doubt the “humans” have changed their ways.
