It’s a non-stop whirl wind!

May 25th, 2008 - 6:06 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and nephew lovers: We are having a whirl wind holiday weekend. I have my nephew over while his parents visit friends in Palm Springs. We are having such a good time.

Julian has been the best thing ever for our Emma. She is jumping, singing, and just generally loving life while her best bud is here. Julian adores the hounds.

We have been going non-stop!

Pizza party, Playing with Enzo his pug, making videos for YouTube, Game works, Indiana Jones, Longhorn Steak House, walking the hounds, 2 on demand movies, Grater’s Ice Cream, squirt gun fights…….and that was just yesterday!

Today is Wright Patterson Air-force Base Museum!

Lynda Seal has golden time for the HoPpers!

May 20th, 2008 - 4:04 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and gold watch lovers! Our friend Lynda Seal of AZBR sent in a package of gold and 2 golden watches for the House of Puddles Gold Rush. Her gold package was valued at 50.00 and is currently reflected on the firstgiving page.

Well, I just got to the watch shop today to obtain the value of the watches.

LSealAZBR.jpg

The larger one that is on the far left was worth 24.00 and that was for the casing only. The band was not gold. The two in the middle were not gold. The smaller one that is on the right of the watch grouping dated back to the late 1800s was only worth 2.00 for it’s parts, but every cent counts folks.

You guys would not have believed this watch shop and jewelery store. It is a few towns over but it is like stepping back in time. It was so cool. They are called Cleves and Lonneman. I cannot wait to go back. They also take sterling silver flatware so send any old pieces of flatware that you have and I will march it down to them for doe! I love this place and the folks are so nice.

As an aside, you would not believe the people waiting in line to cash in gold and silver. It was kind of odd. I have never seen anything like this in my life.

Lynda, thank you so much. Your donations have totaled close to 80.00 for the HOP. You ROCK!

Want to look at our Firstgiving page? Of course you do!

Guess what Chaps’ did this morning?

May 18th, 2008 - 7:07 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and clever hound lovers: I was watching Chaps and Emma this morning out back just wandering around. Today the weather was impeccable and the kids were really enjoying themselves.

This is a picture of my back area, but not taken today. It is just so you can see it.

backpatio.jpg

Anyway, Chaps was no where near Emma when I finished making their breakfast. She was pointed in the opposite direction of the steps leading up to me. So, when I announced breakfast, Chaps could have run in a straight line up the stairs, but instead he ran to Emma, bumped gently into her, danced a few steps so she could hear his nails, and then walked slowly in front of her, leading her up the stairs. Well, let me just say, how proud I am of our boy.

Chaps knows that eating is the most important thing in Emma’s life and it has become even more important since she went blind.

What a clever boy!

More clever boy news later…Cat, Chaps and Emma

Memories – 1 of 2

May 16th, 2008 - 7:07 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and memory lovers. This blog posting and the next one are some memories of when Emma could see. I am getting over the shingles and deleting some pictures from IPhoto. None that are important, of course. However, I am running across a few you may like. This is one and the next blog posting is another. I am not going to make this into a memory lane type of thing. Just 2 pictures that you might like of Emma when she could see.

proud momma_2.jpg

It has been a solid week of shingles and let me tell you they are fierce and nasty! Please, educate yourself regarding this malady. According to what I have researched I am a bit young, but I was totally stressed out over Emma and stress is a reason they can present themselves.

Interestingly, a blurp was in USA TODAY about the dreaded shingles.
Folks, this can put you down for a month. Mine presented as a small blister under my left eyebrow. The only way I knew that it was shingles was because my Mom had shingles and it presented in the exact same place.

She did not catch hers and the virus and pox spread down her entire face and she was in horrible pain for a month. So, learn and know your body. I caught mine in the time frame it takes to make a difference. 72 hours. I still had trouble. But not near what I could have.
