Poor Chaps. He was a bit scared!

October 31st, 2008 - 10:10 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and it’s Howl-o-ween lovers. I had Julian over tonight for begging and I happened to capture this picture. Our Chaps got a bit frightened of his best friend. Julian did NOT try to scare him. He was just changing and came out to the living room.

Our Chaps is so delicate. He hates stuff like this so I asked Julian to go back to the bed room and then I put Chaps into the sunroom with Emma. Chaps was fine with that. He is such a soft soul. Of course, Emma could not see any of this so she was trying to comfort him.

It all turned out great. Grandma sat with the kids while Julian handed out candy to the goblins! He had a great time.

Chaps and Emma survived. Can you imagine? The love of your life, AKA Julian, comes out looking like that?

All was well very soon after the costume came off. Chaps was back to normal and laying in the big dog bed with Julian.

More tricks later………Cat, Chaps and Emma

You have a few more hours to……….

October 31st, 2008 - 9:09 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and buying raffle ticket lovers! Some of my readers may remember that I am helping Susan Randolph with her fundraiser for House of Puddles. It ends tomorrow! It is an art show! Here is the link to the art show that I am featuring on my website in the HOP boutique section!

ART SHOW

The esteemed (or is that ahroooed?) Barkwork Randolph Gallery is proud to debut the “Senior Droolers Are Cooler” art exhibition, benefiting House of Puddles (HOP). This extraordinary event represents the first-ever public showing of so many pup pawtraits in one location. For years, these up-and-coming canine artists have displayed their masterworks only in small, elite galleries (the home fridge) for the enjoyment of the richest and most powerful collectors (their moms and dads). Now they join forces to honor and aid HOP, dedicated to helping senior hounds who ask only for a warm bed and loving lap where they can enjoy their golden years.

Of course, as an Aunt, I am partial to my Julian’s rendition of Rudolph! I can brag can’t I?

That is one of the perks of having a website and a blog! PAWSOME INDEED!

I have to tell you guys that this is my pencil set from 1963. I still had it in my basement. Can you believe it? Can you say, “pack rat”?

How could you not want this master piece hanging on your wall? Good luck dear readers, good luck!

More master pieces later………Cat, Chaps and Emma

Mommy, when do we start begging?

October 31st, 2008 - 12:12 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and Begging Lovers: Well, we are full swing into decorating. I had to try these on the kids. I have the devil horns and the angel halo. The angel halo bit the dust last year, so devil horns it is. I was able to get a few pictures before they figured out what I was doing. LOL

Mommy, when do we start begging?

Sweet Emma could never be a devil!

Neither could Chaps, but boy do they look cute!

OK, my boy took it for a few seconds. What a good boy!

Happy Howl-o-ween!

Clancy UPDATE!

October 31st, 2008 - 5:05 am KY Time

Howllo Fewllo Hound and Clancy’s surgery update lovers: This came in from his Aunt Audra last night after I went to bed.

“Clancy is finally home. I just got home myself, so sorry for the late update. The vet didn’t begin his surgery until really late and he just got home at 7:00, and is beginning to wake up more now. The vet let my Mom take him home, because she takes such good care of him.”

“He had both his Anal Glands removed, due to being infected. He had two lumps removed from his left rear leg and tail and he had two teeth removed and some mouth surgery. It will be a long night for my Mom…..you know – you’ve been there. Thank you all for praying! I’ll update you more tomorrow. Attached are a few photos after we brought him home.”

Here he is on the ride home…………..

Here he is walking into his home. Wow, he looks great for all of that surgery…..

Here he is after being tucked into sick bay………..

Here he is with his brother Bailey being very concerned……..

Audra is right, it probably was a long night. Clancy is one lucky hound to have such a caring and devoted family………..

I sure hope that last night was not too ruff. I know the first night home is usually pretty good due to all of the anesthetics and drugs they are on.

We will be waiting for our update and kiss Clancy for us. Give Baily an extra treat.

Welcome home big boy, welcome home.

He is the light of his family’s life and they are worried sick.

A basset pup named Betsy! How adorable! – Oh, and she needs a home!

October 29th, 2008 - 5:05 pm KY Time

Howllo Felllow Hound and Puppy Lovers! It is my honor and pleasure to showcase Betsy the basset hound pup! She will be taking applications for adoption starting NOW!
Betsy will be under the care of
BLUEGRASS BASSET HOUND RESCUE
starting Saturday!

If you are interested in adopting this cutie pie e-mail Susan at:

bluegrassbassetresq@yahoo.com

Can you imagine a pup as a stray? Well she was. Look at how skinny she was in the first picture. She was starving and had a gash on that perfect snout. Poor Betsy. Thank God that Bluegrass has her now. She is one lucky duck, I mean hound! You know what I mean!

The next 2 pictures are her getting some meat on her bones! Beautiful bones they are! Slurp!

I sure hope the person who is lucky enough to adopt Betsy will live in basset hound town! We want to keep up with this little pretty one!

More pupdates later………Cat, Chaps and Emma

WOW – my nephew was just accepted at the Citadel!

October 29th, 2008 - 4:04 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and nephew lovers! Most of you know Julian, my youngest nephew, but I have 2 other nephews. They live in GA and unfortunately I don’t get to see them near as much. Sigh!

Anyway, my eldest nephew, Ronald, has just been informed that he has been accepted at the Citadel!

How cool is that for him? Super duper cool! He has also applied at Annapolis and VMI. These schools do not announce until early next year. I have a feeling he is going to have his pick! OMG! I am pretty sure he gets his smarts from me. LOL!

I cannot believe that my baby is going to be a military man. OMG

They grow up so fast.

Here he is with his girl friend Rachel at the military ball at his high school. It is their prom.

More proud Aunt gushing later…..Cat, Chaps and Emma
