Chaps has a question for Santa………

December 22nd, 2008 - 10:10 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and Santa Lovers: Every year Chaps visits with Santa prior to his journey for some of his pressing questions. Tonight, Chaps would like to share his first question and the answer from Santa.

Chaps: Dear Santa, I know you maintain a long list of children and pets who have been good throughout the year. The list gets bigger each year by virtue of the world’s increasing population. I know this because I just googled it. Here are the facts Santa! How on earth can you do all of your deliveries in one night?

World POPClock Projection

According to the International Programs Center, U.S. Census Bureau, the total population of the World, projected to 12/23/08 at 02:56 GMT (EST+5) is

6,748,894,629
Monthly World population figures:

07/01/08 6,710,926,117
08/01/08 6,717,647,265
09/01/08 6,724,368,413
10/01/08 6,730,872,750
11/01/08 6,737,593,898
12/01/08 6,744,098,235
01/01/09 6,750,819,383
02/01/09 6,757,540,531
03/01/09 6,763,611,245
04/01/09 6,770,332,394
05/01/09 6,776,836,730
06/01/09 6,783,557,879
07/01/09 6,790,062,216

Santa: Dear Chaps my dear hound and friend, Ho – Ho – Ho – you are such a smart and good boy. Please let me try to explain it to you and you can tell all of your hound friends.

Shhhhhhhhhhh, listen carefully my dear boy.

Due to the increasing population I have to deliver more toys in the same amount of time. If one were to assume I work in the realm of standard time, I would have to limit my stay to about two to three ten-thousandths of a second per home!

The fact that I am more than16 centuries old and I do not age, should be your biggest clue and tell you that I do not work within time as you know it. My Christmas Eve trip may seem to take around 24 hours, but to me it may last days, weeks or even months in standard time. I would not want to rush the important job of distributing presents to children and hounds spreading Christmas happiness to everyone, so the only logical conclusion is that I function within a different time-space continuum than the rest of us do.

Chaps: Huh?

Santa: Don’t worry dear friend I have plenty of treats for all the hounds.

Chaps: Pawsome Santa – you totally answered my question!

What is wrong with this picture???

December 21st, 2008 - 10:10 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and wrong picture lovers??? Take a close look. I am the one behind the gate??? Yes dear readers, I have to gate myself in my kitchen to eat breakfast. As you can see, I have a lovely, large dining room table, but………

I kind of hate slobber all over it. No matter how I try (not very hard) I cannot keep the kids off my lap while I sit at a table. It’s just easier to put myself behind a gate!

The big guy and his side kick always get the last bite.

Someday I might get to sit down and eat or maybe not!

More gated musing later……Cat, Chaps and Emma

I had to LOL when I got this comment from Mexico, on YouTube about Emma!

December 20th, 2008 - 6:06 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and YouTube Lovers: I get comments on my videos a fair amount. I love reading them and responding. Last night I got the following comment from Mexico. It was in reference to the video I made of Emma sitting in front of my Cherry Tree. Actually, it was the first video I ever made on YouTube, so it holds a special place in my cherry blossom heart. Anyway, here is the comment.

Her face is so cute, but I do not like her body too much cuz she is too white…but she is really cute, and the thing that she is so white, actually makes her perfect for the cherry tree.

Every time I read it I crack up. Here is the video

I did not tell Emma that her body was too white……….Just that she was Pretty, Pretty, Pretty!

More fun comments later………Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

P.S. This is how I responded:

She does have a very cute face! I really like her white body, but everyone has different tastes! Her brother is mostly red and he is REALLY handsome! Cat

More fun YouTube comments later……Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

Chaps’s son and his sister put on a Christmas concert

December 20th, 2008 - 2:02 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and concert lovers, and who is not one of those? I love a good concert and I just had to share.

Chaps’s son, Colby Chaps and his sister Abby put on a concert just for basset hound town residents. I know you can’t hear them, but just imagine them singing………

OH HOLY NIGHT

I can just here it now!

Oh Holy night, the stars are gently shining……(I think Colby Chaps is a baritone)

Fall on your knees, Oh hear the angel voices………(Abby is an Alto, I think)

Oh night divine, Oh night divine!

More Bravo Moments Later……Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

Special thanks to Audra, Colby Chaps and Abby’s Mommy – Love you

Wanna see some pictures of a pretty girl?

December 20th, 2008 - 12:12 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and Scully Lovers: Most of my readers are probably familiar with Scully, the Canadian beauty queen. She is so pretty. Recently our girl was battling cancer and she has been given the good news that she is now in remission. What wonderful news for the holiday!

I was just on Scully’s MySpace Page and saw these magnificent pictures and I had to share. If you have seen them, I am sure you are smiling just as big as the first time you viewed them!

Swing that ear pretty girl!

Hey, is that home I see?

Happy Holidays Sweet Scully – You kiss your Mom for us!

More Scully pictures later…….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

OK – one more

A pit stop before heading in! Hey this is cold!

hehehehehe

Spam – the e-mail kind. YUCK

December 20th, 2008 - 12:12 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and Spam haters. We all get our fair share, but my word!!!! Guess how many spams my website hosting company has caught for me in 3 years?

Give up?

Almost 30,000 spams have been thrown in the internet trash can, all sent to bassethoundtown.com

Chaps wishes it was of the eating kind! LOL

More cyber spam later but I am sure glad I have a hosting company. Oh, one more thing. If you ever leave a comment that does not show up it most likely has a link in it and my hosting company thinks it is spam. I usually can catch those, but feel free to e-mail me via the contact page and let me know.

Now……back to wrapping!

More mind numbing information later…..Cat, Chaps and Emma

Yet another amazing Emma story!

December 19th, 2008 - 5:05 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and Amazing Emma Lovers: A few days ago my Mom washed all of the dog toys which takes up both of our machines. The kids hate toy washing day. I can just tell it.

Anyway, my Mom finished the tidy toy task and put them all in the clean toy bags. We usually make a fairly big deal about bringing them in my home and and scattering them around. We also make sure we get the favorites out right away so the hounds don’t freak out.

Then, I put an extra bag of fresh toys in the office closet for Emma to enjoy. It’s a little game she has where she likes to have fresh toys after scratching on the door. We both enjoy it.

(I hope this is not too long)……..

So, to make a long story longer. I heard Emma back in the office almost frantic at the closet door. It was not her usual game. I opened the door and she leaped up and snatched the toy bag right off the shelf which she has never done.

I had never seen her do this before. I let her continue and she stuck her head deep in the bag.

Like I said before, she was frantic…….

Chaps and I were puzzled. Then I saw the errors of my ways. I had forgotten to pull Emma’s favorite toy out.

This shot was achieved by this toy laying on the floor for a nano second. It was scooped up and she was off to her bed in the living room!

Can you believe that she did that totally blind? She amazes us everyday, and I had to share with my dear readers. Sorry the shot is so blurry, it’s an action shot! LOL

OMG! Everyone thinks their kids are smart but who has a genius? hehehehehe

AMAZING EMMA

More stories later because you know there will be more!

Love, Cat, Chaps and lil’ Miss genius!

60 degrees and Sunny in basset hound town 12-19-08???????

December 19th, 2008 - 1:01 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and sup with the weather lovers! We had a blizzard a few days ago and today, 60 degrees and sunny!!!!!!!!

That is probably why I have the wanderlust in my spirit! Nothing better than hitting the open road under these types of condition! LOL, and see next blog posting!

Here is Emma laying in my office, with the DOOR OPEN!

Wacky I tell you, wacky!

More wacky tails later………Cat, Chaps and Emma (we are all getting aired out good and ignoring the work on my desk)!

OMG – we can dream can’t we?

December 19th, 2008 - 12:12 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and Dreaming Lovers: This totally pawsome camper reminds me of the VW bus we traveled the country in when I was kid. We went to every corner of North and South America. Here is what it looked like, but ours was beige. My Dad was a slide freak, so I can’t find any pictures off hand. A family of 5 slept in this thing! My bunk was the pop up top and I loved it!

I really don’t want to travel anymore unless I can take the kids so I have been dreaming of the day when I can afford a mini RV. I am always on the look out for new products. OMG Look at this mini bus! It might be years from now, but look out road here we come!

Check out the solor panals on the roof! How cool is that? Can you imagine Chaps and Emma pulling into your driveway someday in the future? Hey, we would not even need a hook up!

Here is the website address:

http://verdier.ca/

If you click on this link, go to specifications at the bottom and scroll down to BLUEBERRY. That has bassethoundtown.com’s name written all over it.

I just added this to my dream board.

More dreams later……..Cat, Chaps and Emma

P.S. The song on their website is really jazzy cool! Makes us want to feel the wind in our ears!
