Howllo Fellow Hound and 2 Hounds on a dinky throw rug lovers: OK – the kids have a huge bed in my office, nice and comfy, right? Well, I walk back to get some work done and this is what I see!!!
I had to get a side view!
The kids never cease to amaze me. Maybe this kind of comfort is better than the big soft bed kind!
I bet that’s it.
More making yourself comfortable later…Cat, Chaps and Emma
Howllo Fellow Hound and Teacher’s Pet Lovers! OMG, I cannot be more proud of our Chaps. He is definitely the star in any reading I do. I arrived to the school an hour early so I could walk the big guy. His presence was felt by all of the kids coming to school and it was electric! You should have seen all of the Mom and Dads driving in pointing and smiling at our boy! I really like to arrive early so the kids can see him. It is kind of like a, “sighting”! It is too cute how many kids tell me how they saw Chaps before they got to the reading.
Here I am giving the dog safetly lesson prior to the reading.
Notice the mats they are sitting on because it comes into play later!
Here is Chaps being a good boy right before the reading.
Look at this little girl. She dressed up in her finest dog jumper. OMG! I loved this dress. It totally reminded me of one of my favorite dresses I had at her age.
OK, now for the mats. After the kids left Chaps went to work. Look at him. He totally rolled his body on mats where the kids were sitting. I think it was for Emma! He wanted to share with his best friend!
He loves kids so much and he wanted their smell all over him. Can you believe how sweet he is?
Chaps never ceases to amaze me.
When he got home he stood like a statue while Emma smelled him from nose to tail. I am convinced he did that rolling for Emma.
They just played and played when he got home. He was so full of himself!
More rolling on the mats later…..Cat, Chaps and Emma
P.S. My dearest friend Lisa went with me. I could not do it without her. I love you Lisa! Thank you so much. What would I do without you?
Howllo Fellow Hound and Lily Loves: Today I am reading the Lily book to a bunch of kids. Chaps, the wonder hound, is going with me of course. My goodness our boy can really make an event! It is so cute because when we come into the building most of the other teachers will be peeking out of their doors and smiling at the big boy. Usually, the office staff winds up coming into the reading. This one is pretty big in size. There will be about 60 kids. OMG! Lisa, my graphic designer and friend is helping me. You know I am taking my camera!
So, in honor of Lily I give you these cute pictures of the day! This first one is the Lily Pad going belly up.
It’s a bit blurry because it’s an action shot! LOL
Here is our Lily back in my office helping me write the Lily book! (about 9 years ago)
What a sweet and kind girl. I feel her presence everyday.
Chaps will do you proud today sweetheart, I will make sure of it! Love Mommy
More Lily Pad pictures for years to come.
Love, Cat, Chaps (the star) and Emma staying at home with Grandma!
Howllo Fellow Hound and two dog night lovers: Wow – it was cold last night! Have you heard that saying before, it was a two dog night?
It refers to being cold. Often when ranchers or cowboys were out on the range they would have to sleep with their dogs to keep warm. A one dog night was a night when he had to share body heat with one dog, two dog night was two dogs and a three dog night was an extremely cold night where he would have to share body heat with three dogs. “how cold was it on your trip?” “It was a three dog night”.
Well, I am lucky that Chaps and Emma throw off a lot of heat, so I am covered in the three dog night temperatures that are sure to come over the next several months. Did I say I am covered?
This is a shot of Emma not wanting to leave her nest this morning!
Come on Emma – Breakfast!
Two dog night, yeah right! I think they think it’s a one person night! LOL
More covers later….Cat, Chaps and Emma
Howllo Fellow Hound and leg up lovers: Sometimes a blind girl needs a thick towel with an absorbent lining after a potty break!
Even though she has the best nose in the world, every girl might step in a puddle from time to time! Pay no attention to the puddle maker in the background!
Like I said, sometimes a blind girl needs a thick towel with an absorbent lining!
Don’t worry little girl. Mommy has your back!
More making sure life has leg up lovers later……..Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
Howllo Fellow Hound and Have Not Lovers! My dear friend and I were reminiscing about her rescue hound, (Abby)! She has Chaps son – Colby Chaps. She rescued Abby from the side of the road a few years back.
I thought that this picture really touched the world of rescue. Audra and I found our homeless hounds on the side of the road. She found Abby and I found Lily wandering and lost.
Stray dogs need immediate attention.
If you can’t foster them, just get them off the road, if you can. Take them to a no kill shelter in your area.
It will probably be hard now a days. Most no kill shelters are full. Do what you can, if you can.
This picture makes me happy for this stray hound! Audra kept her, just like I kept Lily!
Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
P.S. Colby Chaps on the left – how a hound should look – Abby on the Right – needing some meat on her bones! LOL
Howllo fellow hound and MVVP Hounds of the day! I know that many folks watch football on Sundays. I am not one of them, but I can spot a good play when I see one!
In the fashion of the messy illustrator that football commentators use, I have tried to capture the MVVP of the day! This award goes to Chaps!
MVVP means, MOST VALUABLE VACUUME PLAYER OF THE DAY!
I think you will agree after you see what he did!
(I spelled vacuum wrong. Who knew Vacuum had two u(s)?)
Not a big deal. Anyway, he totally ran down the field and blocked Emma from heading towards the big Monster that Mommy was holding. The dreaded vacuum cleaner!
You have to click the pic to see all of the details! LOL
This took all of 5 seconds, but I captured it in my mind. Now it is captured on paper!
I really am that skinny! LOL!
More MVH (most valuable hound) moments later. Chaps is just incredible with Emma. I am in awe every day of how they work together with her blindness.
Love, Cat, Chaps (blocking big boy) and Emma
