Stump, need I say more?

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Stump Lovers: OMG! I have been following this dog’s career for years. I have always loved the Sussex Spaniel. I was thrilled beyond thrilled when he won best of show at Westminster.

I guess you can tell why I like this breed so much? Duh!!!

Dog Show

Reminds me of a certain low to the ground hound! Apparently they are fairly rare.

Dog Show

Look, Stump can even sit up! Toooooooo cute!

APTOPIX Dog Show

We will follow his reign for the next year in basset hound town. Maybe I can even get an interview with the trainer who entered him on a whim 5 days prior to the show. Stump has been at Westminster many times, but he was retired. The trainer thought he might have fun. Sure looks that way!

Congrats big boy! Not bad for an old man of 10!

More Stump mania later…..Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

Stump is sweet and cute, but he just doesn’t come close to the personality of a Basset Hound.

Nothing could come close to the personality of a basset hound! I am so addicted it hurts! LOL!

Stumps and Emma should make PR appearance together They both have inspiring life stories to share.

Horray for the old folks, both dog and people!

I’m so glad you stopped by my blog! Your bassets are gorgeous! It’s funny, for years I referred to the sussex spaniel as a “fuzzy basset hound” because of their similarities. I never thought I would get to have a sussex of my own, but in August 2007, we rescued our Nell-dog (though before we got her, we didn’t realize we were rescuing her). Other than the lack of slobber (compared to our basset), Nell isn’t all that different in demeanor (she snores louder than the basset!).

So glad to meet you! Will be adding you to my basset blog roll.
