Am I am too nice……..Yes!

February 13th, 2009 - 7:07 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and too nice lovers:

This is a post about me and how I got took for 70.00 dollars. A very small price to pay to learn a lesson. I really think I am too nice.

My old pizza delivery man showed up on my door step to shovel snow recently. He said had lost his job. OK – I needed my snow shoveled. I paid him the going rate plus a way too big tip.

5 days later he showed up telling me that his electric was going to be shut off and if I could front him 70.00 his wife and 3 small children could be warm for a month. He promised me he would come back and do some yard work. We had that huge wind storm and I had branches everywhere.

I fronted him the 70.00 which was the re-connection fee.

Well, today he came to do the branch removal. However, he tried to talk me into paying him another upfront fee to do crazy work I did not need. My heart sank.

I HAD BEEN HAD……….

When I told him no, just remove the branches, he spent 15 minutes working and then told me he had to run an errand. I know I will never see him again.

He remembered me as a generous tipper when he was a pizza delivery guy and took advantage of me. He thought I was stupid. What he did not know was that I was indeed generous, not stupid.

This is just a word to the wise. People are desperate now. Protect yourselves.

I called the pizza place today. His supervisor told me to steer clear of him. He was a prolific lyer.

I am too nice……..

More learning lessons later………Cat, Chaps and Emma

You learn something new every day! Now I am hanging my head in shame

P.S. Plus, I gave him a Lily book for his kids. I wonder if he even has any kids?

What is Chaps doing?

February 13th, 2009 - 9:09 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow basset hound and wondering what Chaps’s is doing lovers: I was walking through my living room and glanced over and witnessed Chaps in a position never before seen!!!!

img_9399

Why would a hound lay with his rear end on the step like that? Let’s take a closer look.

img_9402

Interesting…….. It might be comfortable, who knows? But what is he doing?

img_9412

OK, that answers it. Chaps is playing with his favorite toy.

img_9416

But why was he laying like that? Only the Mayor knows for sure!

Well, I guess you know what I have to do now? Go vacuum my carpet out of complete embarrassment. Grandma always says it looks like it snowed in your TV room! LOL

No wonder I woke up coughing and gagging this morning.

More Mysterious Chaps photos later….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

Dreaming of Spring………..

February 12th, 2009 - 1:01 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Dreaming of Spring Lovers:

I see the faintest little pink buds on my cherry tree out front. It had me dreaming of spring. I thought I would share this picture of our Mayor about 4 years ago. Check out who is looking through the window!

chaps-with-cherryblossom

How handsome can you get? Little Emma’s turn was next.

cherrybaby

We were going to a pet fair at our local park and she had on her disco tube top. She dazzled the onlookers with her beauty.

Also, that day, Chaps was overcome by a herd of Newfoundlands. We were just standing there, minding our own business and a group from Newfoundland rescue came up behind us and asked me question. It was the most bizarre encounter. All of the sudden I looked around and the Mayor was in the middle of about 8 Newfoundlands. I am kicking myself for not taking a picture. If you don’t know the breed, they are huge! Here is an example picture

Chaps stood just like a statue until they moved on. It was pretty cool.

Chaps goes belly up for Grandma during weather alert!

February 11th, 2009 - 8:08 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Chaps going belly up lovers! Wow, we are having a huge wind storm right now. Grandma came down to get some batteries for flash lights in case we have a power outage. We were rushing around and being weather alert nerds acting all frantic!

Chaps made sure he stopped Grandma in her white sock tracks!

img_9306

Another moment captured in time. This is right in front of the dog door that was blowing open. That has never happened before. Very strange.

More belly rubs later……….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
