Chaps was late for breakfast. Sup with that?
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and never late for breakfast lovers!!!!!
This morning I was making Chaps breakfast and he is always right by my side, I call him my large glue stick. So, I was stirring, stirring and calling and calling. I thought maybe he was outside which would have been a bit strange given I was in the kitchen! Anyway, I went to look for him and I found him in my bedroom/junk area (LOL)
He was smelling the pile of clothes and shoes I had on yesterday when I was visiting Emma. You really can’t see them very well because it was still darkish. I was able to sneak past him and grab my camera. I should just wear it around my neck. He looked up at me with such a quizzical look. So, we took a few minutes and had a talk about Emma and she would be back tomorrow. I said a few key words about Emma and “Emma be back” and it seemed to work. He followed me into the kitchen and ate, but it’s just not the same without his buddy. Food always tastes better when someone wants your portion.
I really have to watch it with him because he has got such a delicate soul.
Tomorrow can’t come soon enough.
More delicate stories later……Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
Oh, that’s good news! Am I hearing you right, Emma will be able to come home tomorrow???? I know you all miss her so much, and she will recover better at home too. Please let me know how she is after you visit her today. Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers.
I there anything that can be done to help Mayor Chaps with the waiting, and his anxious behavior? I will try and think of something special.
I welcome suggestions from anyone.
Poor Chaps. You did good by talking to him. And he can tell by your actions that she’s coming back. I don’t care what anybody says, our bassets can understand a lot of what we say. Tomorrow will be here before you know it!
Thanks Maureen – I think Chaps will be just fine tomorrow and those sweet potato treats you sent are really easing the pain!

Audra – She is coming home tomorrow. I called the clinic earlier and the gal who answered the phone said, “Oh, you are Emma’s mom, I love her!” I swear she makes more friends than anyone I have ever known. She is so sweet and giving. The gal also told me that she was stronger today and was resting after her therapy session. They had her covered with her blankee and also gave her a pillow for her head. She said Emma was a picture of sweetness. All the employees visit her and talk to her to let her know she is safe and sound. It was a very nice phone call.

What a nice clinic….I know it eases your mind to know she is being taken care of. Emma is a picture of sweetness all the way through her soul. I hope he is better today, take lot’s of kisses with you. There is no doubt she knows she is loved.
So glad that Emma will be home tomorrow. Sounds like she is receiving incredible care at the doctor’s!
Basset’s know everything. When I was in college (30 years ago), our basset would know if I was coming home for the weekend. He would lay on my bed most of the day, and then about 30 minutes before I would get home he would move to the front door and wait.
Chaps and all of you will be the best medicine and therapy for Emma. So glad for the good news.
Emmers is coming home YES nuff said
love to all
CONGRATS!!!! What a sweetie Chaps is. He really misses Emma and he was worried. If you can you should take a pic of the Clinic with the Doc and his staff. They sound wonderful and others need to know about him and where his clinic is!!!
XOXOXO,
Nin
Poor Chaps – so out of sorts without his best girl. I wish I could be there when they are reunited. Everyone will breathe a sigh of relief when our girl comes home.
Can’t wait.
