I have decided to give up the internet……..

April 1st, 2009 - 7:07 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Internet lovers:

I have decided to make a life change.

I no longer feel the need to be on the Internet and I want to get as far away from it as possible.

Everyone knows what good deals there are in housing and I have found my dream home.

There is just one small problem.

I cannot bring the hounds.

Oh, I am sure they will be well taken care of.

Grandma and Grandpa are very good to them.

Wanna see a picture of my new home?

It’s a little fixer upper off the coast of no where’s ville.

Just perfect for me and my need not to communicate!

A P R I L F O O L S!!!!!!!!!!!

I know, pretty lame huh? Me leaving the kids was a dead give away.

Actually, today 12 years ago, I bought the dog house we live in. I absolutely love it and when I fixed it up I did every thing with basset hounds in mind. This home is very lucky to have these wonderful souls in every nook and cranny.

Be careful out there folks. Don’t get fooled…………

More nooks and crannies later…………Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

Ha! Yeah, at first I believed you until I read you were giving up the dogs. Yep, big give away for sure! We built our house in 2003 and after having dogs in our old house I wanted a dog friendly home too. We picked a floor plan that has a study in the back. Even though we have a back door we added a door in the study because it leads out to the back yard. My husband doesn’t like the dogs in the house when we’re not home or when we’re sleeping. And we always had arguments about this because I want my dogs with me all the time. So, in order to make us both happy, we settled on this happy medium that the dogs would have their own room while we were working and at night when we were sleeping. I tiled the floor, put a linen closet in there that’s full of doggie food and supplies and there is a mop sink and a very small toilet nook in there. This way we can also use this room when we’re having parties or working in the back yard. All 4 dogs have big comfy beds with a pillow and they have a huge water dispenser. The door has a doggie door so they can go in and out as they please. The room has a “pocket door” that separates the study and the living room that stays open while we’re home so that they can go in and out of the doggie door to go outside at their leisure. It gets so hot down here in Houston area that air conditioning is a must. When we are gone we keep the temperature in this room comfortable for the dogs. This eases my mind and I don’t worry about them being uncomfortably hot or cold while we’re at work. So, now that I’ve rambled on I’d better get back to work! Be sure and let us know how Emma is today. I hope she walks some more! I’m sure she will!

Your house is definitely a home. I envy your beautiful garden (I live in a condo).

I do think, that Chaps and Our Emma would enjoy the beach/seaside; but, then who would run Basset Hound Town?

I was totally taken in by that one, until you said leave the buppies. That I know would never happen. But living at the beach, now that’s a thought. I am thrilled with the news of dear Emma’s few steps.

Oh Candy – I am so sorry. I am still laughing over that one. I woke up this morning and was wondering how I could fool my dear readers without being to mean. I usually don’t lay around thinking stuff up like this but I had to wait on Grandma to come down and sit with Emma while I made breakfast. I was LOL at myself. I love to laugh at myself! hehehehe

Marty – my dream is to spend a lot of time with the buppies on the beach at some point. The plan is to travel in about 4 years or less. I want to do a reality show from the road and have webcams in my mini RV. I have plans to pull into many, many driveways. We are great guests, we never come inside your home. All we need is a driveway!

Hey MaureenandSlinky – wow! 12 years in my dog house. I do really love it. Get this, I can see my childhood home from my back yard. Here is a little known fact, if known at all. The street I live on now was the “parking” street when I was a young teenager. That still kind of freaks me out. NLOL! (the answer is yes)!

    Hey Cindy –
That sounds so cool. I sure wish I could see pictures. What a great set up you guys have. I really relate to making the hounds comfortable. It makes working easier knowing that your loved ones are cared for. That is what it is all about!

Why does the Mayor need Calgon to take him away? Has Chaps had a rough day? Extra slurps.
