Emma enters her 4th week of healing from back surgery…
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and healing from back surgery lovers:
Well, today Emma heads into her 4th week of healing. She is doing so great and the hardest part is keeping her from jumping. She feels much better than she really is. Her back needs to heal all of the way!
Today was the first day she took a sun bath on the back porch. She was only allowed a few minutes because her back is shaved and I did not want her to get burnt. I captured this photo right before she laid down.

Who would have thunk that a standing hound would make a Mom so proud? I tease her and tell her that I am going to insure her legs like some famous celebrities do.
More standing proud later…….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
Emma, looks like she has million $ legs to me. Cat
think you better call Lloyd’s of London!!!
Not really Emma’s most beautiful side, but very happy to see that end up and standing strong!
Kerry – just look at those little fur circles on each rear end. Are they not the cutest? LOL
It is amazing how you look at hind legs differently when they work after not working! Just like you said, “standing and strong!”
Cat
I love thoses little fir circles! Rugs has the best ones out of my 4. It looks like a tornado happening. Ha! And yes, Emma sure looks good standing up. 5 weeks does sound like a long time but I’m sure hoping it goes by fast. I’m sure this is something that you’ll never forget.
I call Pollyanna swirls of hair rosettes and she has fourth beautifull ones. How wonderful to see Emma standing tall.
Marty – too cute. I love hair rosettes. I always try to make them look pretty when I am petting Emma. Chaps does not have hair rosettes??? Poor boy!
hehehehe
Cat
Cindy – a tornado! toooooo cute! Remember that animation I did of Emma a few years ago? It is on my website. Here is the link to it if you want to look at it again.
ANIMATION
Well the gal that did it for me could not understand for the life of her that I wanted these fur circles on her butt. So I had to draw her a picture.
Don’t do this to me! I’m here at work laughing outloud! Thank doG it’s lunchtime and not many people are here. That’s just too cute. And hilarious! I’m so glad to see that someone else notices these things. I always thought I was weird because I notice the little differences with my hounds and the little special things about them. Each has their own signature. Harriet has a little pucker on her bottom lip and it’s so cute. I’m not sure why and I’m not sure if I want to know why.
