The proofs for some of my car magnets arrived!
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Car Magnet Lovers! I was definitely one of those until mine got ripped off of my car! I think I spent about 100 dollars for them back in 2006.
I did a blog posting about it back on May the 6th, 2009
So, I wanted to replace them and add to them. I just love car magnets and the looks you get are totally pawsome…..especially from kids! You see laughing and smiling. What vehicle does not need that as they roll down the road?
I wanted proofs for these photo magnets. It was a great idea. It turns out, my graphic designer and I made a fair amount of changes to the photo. We also caught some printer errors as well! Thanks Lisa!
Always, always get a proof! Then make your demands before they go to print.
The photos basset hound town decided on are going to be as big as a Honda Element’s door! 23”x 23”!
Now the kids are ready for their close ups!
As you can tell, I am up on a step ladder so you can see the entire proof. It is not a magnet, just a poster that rolls up. That is why I have the Lily books holding it down. Then I looked over and saw this……..
“Mommy, I am scared…what are you doing up there?”
I had to LOL!
Here is Emma’s proof! I am going to have one kid on the driver’s side door and the other kid on the passenger’s side door! Halla!
Again, these are just proofs. I am going to take them to Staples and have them mounted on cork board and use them as poster art. These are not the perfect outcome for what I want on my car, but I can certainly live with the result on a poster. That is why we do proofs.
Now I have 2 posters and I will have the finished outcome I want on my car! Sweet!
More loving these photos later……Cat, Chaps and Emma
P.S. Grandma calls them the glamour shots and we wanted to have Emma with her puppy gaze! She is a natural for keeping an eye on the road! YES!
P.P.S. I have ordered the original ones again plus a few smaller ones. I did not order proofs on them because they had done those before……
They turned out beautiful!!!
Don’t know if it would be a pain or cost prohibitive…but a fundraiser idea….print basset hound town car magnets for town residents with their hounds…with homage to the mayor and first lady of course.
Hey Lora!
It is pretty expensive. Here is the quote.
Hi Cathy,
I received your information on the magnets, the following would be the pricing:
23″x23″ (quantity of 2) would cost $47.00 each.
These are the photos
30″x17″ (quantity of 2) would cost $42.00 each.
These are the longer magnets that look like the Lily book.
So, they are pretty expensive.
Sigh………
Great pictures. If you do print, I’d like one of each that I can frame for my office. I love both!
Peter – What??? You want the Mayor and Emmers hanging in your office? That would be tooooooo cool! What an inspiration to get you through the day! ROFLOL! Can you tell I am a proud Mother? I will e-mail you later.
Cat
Cat,
Great ideas Cathy, most people just carry photos of their children, but then again, Bassets are sooooooo special.
Emma looks like one of those “Breck Girl Shampoo Photos”. Do you remember those?
The Mayor looks like the statesman he is!
Heck, I don’t see anything wrong with the posters! What did you have changed about them?
Cindy – It is kind of hard to see. I could have lived with it as is, but I corrected some of the details. Took some spots out. For the most part it was just detail and a bit of sharpening to make them look just a bit more crisp.
Ever the detail freak – that’s me
Cat
Maureen – I do remember that. I grew up on those commercials. My Mom was LOL when I told her what you said.
So cute!
Cat
Yup…I need one of each…and maybe a trip to you with Monty so he can have BHT portrait in the office along with Emma and the Mayor.
