High flying hounds land in Sarasota….
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and High flying Hound Lovers: This story came across the bassethoundtown news desk yesterday.
SARASOTA – Some basset hounds got a first class trip to the Bay Area over the weekend. The four dogs came here by private plane.
The dogs were rescued in Tallahassee, but they ran out of room to keep them all. So they were brought to a shelter in our area.
A local pilot from Sarasota was called to help transport the dogs.
Troy Branning was flying home from Tennessee anyway, so it was on his way.
“So on the way back from Tennessee, we stopped in Tallahassee and picked up the dogs and we’re dropping them off here. But unfortunately we fell in love with one of them on the way and we’re going to take him home with us,” he explained.
The rest of the hounds will be taken to the local basset rescue in Parrish.

More hounds getting high flyin’ forever homes later……Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
How cool! I love these stories. And what a lucky hound to be going home with the pilot. I wonder if the one they fell in love with is the one she’s petting or feeding in the picture? Those hounds have a lot of black on them. They look like they may be related.
That’s a great story …. lucky dogs indeed. Look to be basset mixes of some kind?
What a great story. I wonder too which one he kept. Lucky hounds to fly in style.
What a great man/pilot, and what a wonderful adoption story.
This kind of story just warms the heart. To know there are some very good people out in the world. Why does not the news cover such happy stories. We need them in todays world don’t you think?
