Update on our Mayor…..

July 10th, 2009 - 5:05 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and wanting an update on the Mayor lovers: Well, our Mayor had a good day. Either my Mom or myself sat with him all day. He is still in pain and whimpering very lightly. My Mom claims that he whimpers less when I am not around. I wonder what that means? *cough* It can’t be because I baby him beyond belief? Can it?

Here is a picture of his tail. I know that has to hurt. He is on pain medication.

I know his teeth hurt as well. He is chewing funny. I actually get on the floor with him and feed him was a spoon so I can mush it up a bit. I added some mashed potatoes. He ate his entire dinner tonight but it took about twice as long.

I have a feeling that tomorrow will be much better. He has been getting lots of sleep and lots of love.

Emma got mashed potatoes as well. They both get shredded potatoes on a regular basis, but these are the mashed, aka good Bob Evans kind. Yummers!

Well, I better go get his pain pill. I tuck it into – you guessed it, mashed potatoes.

More Bob Evans moments later…..Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

I’m so glad our big man is doing better. I’m sure that tail really pains him. He will be better in no time with all the care and pampering he’s getting from you and grandma. Sending lots of hugs, kisses and drool!

Any excuse to take another photo of a basset backside!

Glad he’s resting. The basset we had growing up hurt his foot one day … nothing serious, but I (a kid) made a huge deal out of it. For the rest of his life, he limped as if that foot was hurting him, but only if I was around. If I wasn’t around, he walked just fine. I am such a sucker for sad basset faces. The Mayor knows that’s your weakness too Cat!

Hey OM! that is too funny! I would love to see a picture of your basset you had as a kid. That would be too cute!

The Mayor has me wrapped around all of his paws. He whimpers and I am a puddle at his paws. Emma and I both. He has her number as well!

    hehehe

Cat…what’s the wait like for a recovery room at Basset Hound Town? I’m sure there’s a long line.

Yucky. Poor Chaps. His tail looks really good though. They did a nice job stitching it up and I’m so glad there was enough skin. I was soooo worried about that. He’ll be recovered before ya know it. Hey Chaps…milk that attention while you can!

Poor Chaps, I think he whimper less when you’re around because he’s saving his whimpers for his grandparents.

But then how can any of us doubt a Basset’s sincerity.
