All things bassets, all the time!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and all things bassets all of the time lovers! Yesterday I was surfing the Internet and ran across a very interesting blog and posting! The blog is called:

Subliminal Intervention

Well, the author, Dreamybee, had just returned home from Thailand and had a layover in the Narita Airport in Japan. The blog states,

“Another way to kill time while wandering around Narita is to check out the Nippon Origami Museum that is located in Terminal 1. They have examples of all kinds of origami figurines, but my favorite was the basset hound.”

OK – now you know why it caught my eye! I could not wait to see an Origami Basset Hound! How totally pawsome and cool!

Here is her photograph! Of course you can click to make it bigger!

I want one!

I just love it! Thanks Dreamybee!

Here is a picture of Dreamybee and her basset, Buster!

Dear Dreamybee – thanks for traveling the world and helping bring all things bassets, all the time to bassethoundtown! We really appreciate it! How often are any of us going to get to the Nippon Origami Museum in the airport of Narita Japan?

More Dreamy bassets later…..Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

Cindy! No one would every call you stupid! Origami is not that well known. I forgot to add a link to that. Duh! I think that the Origami basset is a bit rough but somewhat cute. There is an old YouTube video about this as well. I am going to go look for it.

    Love you

“rough”. Yeah, that’s a good word. I didn’t want to say anything negative cuz it’s kinda cool but you probably need to know what it is to appreciate it. Cool video of how to make one! It was a different fold, but cute. I think the video was confusing because he kept messing with that one end and you couldn’t tell what he was doing. Maybe one day I’ll sit here and see if I can do it following this video. That would be too funny to sit here with a friend and try to do it together. We’d probably end up with totally different looking dogs!

Never thought I’d see an origami basset. That’s pretty cool, although I don’t think I’d ever have guessed it was a basset if I hadn’t been told it was one. I like the hippos!

    Hi Cat,

    Thanks for the link!

Wow, I didn’t realize how non-mainstream origami is! I guess between having a Japanese grandmother and now, living in Hawaii, I sort of take it for granted. It’s really amazing, some of the things that can be made simply by folding paper-here’s a fascinating TED talk about some of the (non-basset-hound) things you can make using origami. This is a good solution if jetting off to Narita isn’t on your agenda anytime soon! =)

I love it! I recognized it instantly because it looks just like Leo, my roly-poly pudding!! Even has the wrinkles in the same place on the tush;)
