Face the Nation and the Cheese Toast!

July 19th, 2009 - 10:10 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Cheese Toast Lovers, and that would be Emma! I am normally not a Face the Nation kind of Sunday Morning watcher, but they were talking about Walter Cronkite. He was responsible for my addiction to news. I grew up, looking up to him. Literally, I would be sitting at the kitchen counter looking up at his face and listening to most every word every night. He fascinated me. I cried when he retired.

Of course Emma was more interested in the Cheese Toast and the last bite her and Burger Boy were going to get!

So, there you have it! Breakfast with basset hound town!

“And that’s the way it is………” RIP Mr. Cronkite

More Face the Nation and the Cheese Toast later….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

    I grew up watching Mr. Cronkite too. We would sit as a family and watch his news, we watched everything he did and every place he went. I also am a news junkie and feel WC helped me know and follow good and honest reporting.
    I am just catching up with your blog and loved the picture this morning of Emma and her beautiful face and Chaps wonderful back and butt.
    Good day to you and the family.

    I love these pictures of Emma “looking” so intently at her goal. Her adaptation to being blind is amazing (thanks to you Cat).

    Cheese toast sounds yummy.

YEAH YOUR THINKING…IT’S LIKE $4 but sometimes its hard to find even change under the seats and this be one of those times…but the fridge is stocked…and i’s easy to make….or at least in my little mind it is.

    let the games begin!

    OK Emma, I haven’t been able to shake this “cheese toast” thought and smell from my brain, so it is cheese toast and a beer at the basketball game tonight–YES– they have grilled cheese kinda like cheese toast. YUMM-E
    I always think how much the bassets would enjoy the food court at the game, well they would enjoy any food court to tell the truth. Right Chaps and Ems

    Doesn’t Emma have problems with cheese? I thought she couldn’t have anything with protein.

    I know what you mean about Walter Cronkite, I was watching CBS’s program last night. I can’t believe he’s gone. I feel like I just lost an important connection with the past.

    I will miss Walter Cronkite, too. He was very much a part of my growing up years in the 1960’s. He was indeed an icon, and a gentleman…

    And Miss Emma…Can you say Cheeeeeeeeeeeese, Gromit?! Emma’s pic is so cute as she contemplates the cheese toast! Cat, have you ever seen Wallace and Gromit’s (British claymation cartoon) adventures? I think they are delightfuler fascination with the cheese toast reminded me of them…
