Wanna meet Romeo? Chaps and Emma’s new cousin…
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and English Mastiff Lovers! I never thought in a million years I would be typing those words! I can also say that I am pretty sure Chaps is not going to be one of those. But we will see how it goes.
My sister, Caryn (Julian’s Mom) just sent me these pictures. The first one is Julian sitting in the shade with their new puppy’s kin folk and Mommy. The dark gal to the left is Daisy and is the Mommy. Great grandma is the one not facing the camera.
Then they got to meet the puppies and this little guy would not leave Julian’s side. He followed him everywhere and it was not the family picking a pup, that pup picked them. (Pretty smart pup)!
It is still too early to bring baby Romeo home so they had to let Mommy take over!
The Big Daddy, Nicodemus looks on with pride…….
More prideful looks later…..Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma (wondering about their new cousin)!
Can you imagine the amount of food those four mastiffs in the first picture with Julian consume? Oh my!! (Is there a German Shepherd beside Julian’s chair?).
Romeo is adorable. In about two months he’ll weigh more than Julian!
He is gorgeous. That’s quite a change when comparing him to Enzo and Oscar who are tiny even compared to Chaps and Emma. I hope Romeo doesn’t step on them.
I love big dogs too, and have secretly thought it would be great fun to have a Mastiff. (get the towels ready because they can outslobber everybody!).
hehehe Kerry! Yes, this breeder also has German Shepherds. She has a fair amount go into the Police force I think. I will post more about her as I learn. She also has some of her GS as seeing eye dogs.
My sister said that when they pulled up 5 Mastiffs ran to their car and wanted to go for a ride. The breeder said they love to go for rides! LOL
Cat
Kerry – I think I will need some beach towels for the slobber! hehehe
Can you imagine what the inside of your car windows would look like with even one EM along for the ride?!
Oh my gosh, Romeo is a cutie, and that picture of Julian holding him is adorable!! Julian won’t be able to lift him up for too much longer, lol. And hey, I bet the new addition will make a pretty comfy bed for Oscar and Enzo to lie on when he’s full grown.
So, when can bring the little soon-to-be-giant home?
Romeo is so cute. Your sister’s other 2 dogs better look out by the time Romeo comes home he’ll be huge compared to them. Your bil better get the checkbook out for chow time!!
OMG that puppy is so cute. What made them decide to add a mastiff to their family?
They get to bring Romeo home in about 3 weeks. I bet he will be so much bigger than they remember him. Enzo is a sweetie but little Oscar better watch out. He LOVES to play hard!
Candy – They love big dogs. They had a neo mastiff years ago and a great dane. They also have a farm with horses on it. The more the merrier! LOL
Going to be hard to tell the English Mastiff from the horses!
I was thinking today what our dogs would do if they came face to face with a Mastiff. Nell (our Sussex) would brace her legs and let him know who was boss. Sophie (basset) would crouch down on all fours, start to tremble and pee all over the floor.
OH, I LOVE mastiffs…and Great Danes…and Irish Wolfhounds…and Borzoi!!…how on earth did I end up with my beloved bassets???! BWAHAHAHA!
Mary, Harley, Biggs and Leo
Mary – You can share Romeo with the residents of basset hound town. I have a feeling he will slobbering with the best of them!
Kerry – Can you imagine a Mastiff going into a play stance? I bet that is sight to see! hehe
All the dogs look magnificient, but I don’t understand why Julian doesn’t want a Basset. He has such a good rapport with Chaps and Our Emma.
