Homeless hounds that became residents of basset hound town!
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and success story lovers: I want to have a sub-blog category where I can organize all of the homeless hounds that the residents of basset hound town have helped. You may have donated, networked, blogged, adopted, or just slung positive drool but together we made some hounds dreams come true.
So, I was working on a new header for our sub-blog category and I came up with this.
My friend and graphic designer was over helping me with her photoshop skills this week. After we were well along with it I became overwhelmed and burst out in tears just looking at all of those faces together. Heck, I am crying now just remembering all of the stories.
These are all of the hounds to date that have been helped by basset hound town. As we help more I am going to make the hounds smaller to add more faces. I will also ask my website designer if we can make the header space larger. I want a special place for our forever home finders.
Did you notice at the top it says…..
bassethoundtownrescue.com
I splurged and bought the domain name for 40.00. I will be making this domain a 501(c)3 – not for profit in the future. It might take years but I will make it happen.
More rags to riches later…..Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
This would make an excellent calendar, placemat, and maybe stationery or note pads. This could become a fundraiser for Bassets.
Super suggestion, Maureen!!

Thank you Cat for having a special place to remember my Homer and all the other special bassets.
Joni – you see that we placed Homer right in the middle! He was a true inspiration to us all. He was so lucky to have you! We love you Joni!
Cat
Homer still has my heart!
Cat you are truly amazing….what a beautiful tribute to the hounds that brought so much love into our lives. I agree with Maureen, I can see endless possiblities with the art work, along with the above, how about mouse pads, tee shirts, stickers, magnets, coffee mugs etc,….with all those ideas as a funndraisers…we can get your dream of the 501(c)3 plan in action a lot sooner!!! We support you 100%!!
What a super idea! Love the artwork.
Which one is Homer? I don’t recognize all the dogs, but I do believe I see Lily up there?
I second the motion that we will support you 100%! I’ve fostered 10 dogs and watched 8 go to forever homes after staying with us to get well. Not that many but 10 is 10. Of course most were sick and a few I thought weren’t going to make it. But I didn’t lose any and ALL have great homes! I plan on picking out a picture that I have of each hound and putting their name and dates that I fostered them on the photo and making something out of it. I might hang them up individually or I might make a poster. Not sure what I’ll do yet but it’ll probably be a good long while before I take time to do anything. When I do I’ll send you a picture. Isn’t it so very rewarding to know that you made a difference in just one hounds life? You are the greatest Cat. And so is everyone else on this blog cuz we have all helped out in some way or another!
Great idea Cat. We register domains for about $11-$12 a year, not $40, and can host your websites at no charge if any of this is helpful to you.
Peter – I bought it for 5 years.
Cat
Peter – I had no idea that is what you did! I bought the name back in January. Cat
Wonderful idea Cat. I love the header and you are amazing!
