Howl are you today?

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and summer lovers! Well, I am watching my sister’s dogs again. Remember Enzo and Oscar? Of course you do! Emma is having a great time but Chaps, not so much. Also, Oscar cannot figure out where Emma’s eyes went. He keep smelling all around that area. Emma is so sweet. She just sits there, as still as a statue and lets him.

Well, the next time I am babysitting I will also have Romeo! OMG! I went looking on YouTube to see just what Romeo might look like and you will never believe it. I not only found what he will look like but this big guy is also named Romeo! Is that not too cute? It looks like English Mastiffs will give the basset hound a run for their money in the singing department.

“Romeo will sing happy birthday back to you if you ask him, or if you sing it yourself. He apparently sings it to a recorded song too ! He’s a three year old English Mastiff who weighs 200lbs.”

OH MY GOD!

More singing and looking into another couch later…..Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

Boy can he hold a note. If only the note went with the song! Too cute! Your going to have a whole lot of fun doggie sitting from now on! This will be interesting. I can’t wait until your first time so we can see pictures and hear all about it.

I can’t understand Julian’s attraction to other breeds. Granted they are beautiful/handsome dogs but why doesn’t Julian want a Basset?

Cindy, you are correct, Romeo can certainly hold a note, and I think he has arrangements to all of the tunes he knows.

Maureen – Julian loves all breeds. I am almost glad they don’t have bassets because I could not bare to let them go home. It would be really hard on me.

And is always all about me! hehe

Cindy – I cannot wait to meet him. I get to do that on the 18th. He will be at his new home on the 17th!

I wonder what Enzo and Oscar are going to think of this “puppy” who is already bigger than they are! I hope they don’t get stepped on. Has the Mayor called a town meeting to discuss the new giant?

It’s going to be like living with King Kong to those poor little dogs! I’m sure he’ll be sweet and watch where he steps. At least they’re getting him young and they’ll all have time to adjust. I guess. He’ll probably grow to fast! This will definitely be interesting to watch. And I agree with OneMom. There will HAVE to be a town meeting to discuss this new and very intimidating situation. I’m sure the mayor will be able to solve upcoming issues as he’s a very clever hound.

I just put our beasties outside so Hannah and I could watch this video (I didn’t want to trigger a howl-fest here right now). We’ve watched it three times now and Hannah is rolling on the floor in laughter. That is some note he holds. Very impressive indeed.

Cat……when did you go into the ‘dog sitting’ business?????? Loved the video…..a little worried about Romeo and Chaps though???

  9. August 14th, 2009 | 6:01 pm

LOL Audra! I am worried as well and I will make sure that I do the initial sitting at my sisters home. The first stint is while Julian is in school so I have to stay at his house. I go back and forth. It is going to be a wild ride. It will be like tending to a pony!

I get to meet him on the 18th! Romeo, Romeo where the heck can I get a harness that big, Romeo????

A harness? Well, I would go to a farm supply store and try the equine department.
