Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Drool Lovers! LOL! The hounds are so glad to have me home they are following me everywhere. So, I am carrying my camera around trying to get a cute picture when I hear Emma drinking water. That should be cute!

Someone saw my car at VMI and wanted to ask me a few questions about basset hounds.

“Do they drool much?”

Yes, indeed. They do drool a fair amount.

More drool rules later……Love, Cat, Chaps and Emm

On the positive side, the drool only sticks to walls and human flesh. Bwahahahahaha!

My standard answer for when people as me about my Basset Hound, Slinky is that she adds “sparkle to my life”

I have to admit, that Slinky doesn’t drool much. I think Bassets appreciate sleep and treats more than any other breed, and their love is sooooooo special.

    By the way Cat,

Slinky thought of the perfect gift for our VMI Cadet, Ronald. (Slinky feels since Ronald and Julian have been on this blog–well they belong to the members of Basset Hound Town.) Slinky remembered seeing a hot pink t-shirt that read “Tough Guys Wear Pink” in sparkly black letters at the mall. Slinky wants to know what Our Emma and Mayor Chaps think about this for a gift.

Slinky feels that this would be excellent, because Ronald will have days that he wants to be–well non-military, and this shirt would be the perfect thing to wear to project that image (uniforms and camouflage and be so tiring and mundane). We hope Ronald doesn’t have one of these shirts already, and we don’t want to be the cause of any problems regarding Ronald if other cadets are jealous or envious of such a shirt.

    Let’s have everyone’s input.

Maureen – that is so funny. I fear it would be a waste of money. Our cadet is not allowed to wear civilian clothing! He is issued all of his uniforms. I love the idea however!

He is allowed to have treats! Just like a hound dog, but not until rat week is over.

His favorite is double stuffed oreos. After this week he is going to need an entire package!

Well, I guess goodies are welcome all the time, we all will have to get a package together for our Ronald at VMI.

    Where are this dog’s eyes?

Benjamin – Emma had glaucoma and had to have her eyes removed. She was only 2 when she was diagnosed. She came from what I consider bad breeding. You can read all of her story under my sub blog category – Emma’s blind wisdom!

    Poor baby Emma! 🙁

I’m sure she is happy though, she is in good hands!

Cat, I’m not a very religious person, much less a churchgoer yet, I find these words so encouraging for us all:

“Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.”

    Isaiah 35:5

    🙂

Thank you Benjamin – I find those words very comforting. Emma is an inspiration that makes each and every one of my days better. She is a delight that lights up every morning. The smiles are endless when she shows up….

    Thank you again….
