The Mayor, potentially affected by budget cuts???????

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and say it ain’t so lovers! Could it be? Could our Mayor have been affected by the famous, “budget cuts”, we all know so much about. Finally, there was to be a bit of joy in this cruel world when the Mayor was contacted about potentially being on the early morning shows in New York City, including the TODAY SHOW!

OK, here is how I arrived at a fairly logical conclusion that the Mayor was passed over for a portion of his 15 minutes of fame.

I was in my kitchen on Friday morning feeding the kids and milling around. I had THE TODAY SHOW on. Just as I was pouring a shot of POM WONDERFUL for myself I heard a variation of the following……

Next up we will be talking with so and so of some Dog Magazine (forgot which one). She will be introducing some new green products for grooming your dog and how to save money when buying toys.

Just then, my POM WONDERFUL did not taste so wonderful. It all fit. It was the first week of September. They were talking about grooming products and saving money on pet toys. I was pretty sure the Mayor had been passed over.

So I watched the segment and it was pretty lame. The Mayor would have nailed it and made it much better. However, I have to admit that they show cased some NY City SPCA dogs up for adoption. That was a good thing.

But get this. This is main reason I am glad we did not go. I could have not held a straight face had the woman being interviewed tried to give Chaps a piece of aluminium foil to play with. Yes folks, this lady said that aluminum foil made a nice cheap toy for pets. WT heck? Aluminum foil??????? Come on….. Take an old T-shirt and braid it.

ATTENTION, THIS JUST IN FROM YOUR MAYOR, DO NOT GIVE YOUR PETS ALUMINUM FOIL!

So, I called the woman who called me and guess what? I was right. She said that due to budget cuts they went with local dogs instead of incorporating the Yellow Pages win into the segment. How they were going to do that I have no idea.

Was the Mayor going to look up Reynolds Wrap in the Yellow Pages?

More sad we got passed over but maybe it was for the best, later……Cat, Chaps and Emma

Geez. No way I would give my dogs aluminum foil to play with! Well, personally, the mayor would have done a much better job and promoting rescue would have been a better idea than promoting a service or products. But, just my opinion. Things happen for a reason. Something even better will come up for the mayor. I’m sure of it!

The Today Show people made a big mistake. Their ratings would have skyrocketed with Chaps. Oh well, it’s their loss. He didn’t want to leave Emmers and grandma and grandpa anyways.

What would have really been funny would be for that dog to upchuck foil all over the Today hair-brained host. Who would give a dog foil to play with?

The Mayor would have totally left that woman in the dust. Next week, it would have been The Today Show with Matt Lauer and Chaps Rudert!!! That’s right, Chaps was passed over because they knew he’d take their jobs. Show business is a dirty game!!!

    Chaps still rules in BHT!

Personally, I think Chaps should hold out for a 60 Minutes interview with Steve Kroft or Leslie Stahle; or Dateline with Stone Phillips.

By the way, how much of an imagination do you have to have to think of aluminium foil as a toy. The women probably enjoys watching other people work and paint drying.
