Mutt Madness technical issues resolved….

October 16th, 2009 - 2:02 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Mutt Madness lovers:

This just in from Rachel Ray…..

Thank you for visiting Mutt Madness. We had a rough start to this first week due to many technical difficulties people were having with the site. Due to these problems, we will extend the program by one week, meaning this first week will not end on Monday night as originally planned but will end on Sunday, October 25th at midnight. On October 26th, the candidates that will move into round two will be displayed on the site. This extra 6 days will candidates more time to get friends and families in to vote and get comfortable with the blogs. Here’s an update on the technical issues:

Registration: You do need to register anew with rachaelray.com to vote. Previously you would register and then still need to login to vote. People were confused in thinking it would automatically log them in and wondered why they were still seeing the Login to vote button. We have changed this so immediately following registration, you are logged in.Buttons: Some could not see the Submit button on the registration and Voting Booth pages. This should be fixed.

Voting: When you go to vote for a bracket, you will notice a small pop up that shows more information about the organizations. Then you can click into either of the orgs to learn more. You need to close this window and go back to the original page with the Voting Booth to place your vote. This may seem confusing to some so we are trying to make this process smoother.

If there are any other problems, please do not hesitate to post your comments here. Thank you for your patience and good luck!

End of posting……

OK, let’s all stay on board and get the HoPpers some Mutt Madness doe! YES!

YES! The Hoppers deserve the best and we can help them get it! That picture of all the hounds is such a good picture. Check out that water bowl!

I still can’t get the Mutt Madness voting to work

I voted for HOP. I see that you have to vote for one in each pairing in order to submit the votes. I would like to ask that as folks are voting (since we have to vote in each pairing anyway) that you also vote for Carolina Collie Rescue (first pairing in the right column). They helped me many years ago when we lived in SC and our precious collie was lost by people who were taking care of her while we were out of town. Thanks to a Carolina Collie rescue volunteer, she spotted Lolly running down the interstate and stopped and picked her up. She had lost her collar. I contacted them from 900 miles away asking them to keep a look out for Lolly – I included her picture – within just a few hours I had word from their volunteer that she had Lolly at her house and would keep her safe and sound until our return. I was so immensely grateful).

Wow Kerry. I’ll be sure and remember their name and I’ll sure vote for them. That’s so cool. That’s what rescue is all about. You were sooooo lucky! Speaking of rescue, this crazy rescued hound of mine, Harriet, is behind me snoring up a storm! She’s my loudest snorer. Actually, I think she’s the only snorer. One day I’ll have to take a video of it.

Of course Kerry! I will also blog about them as well. I am pretty sure I voted for them in round one. What a story. I bet you were out of your mind.

    Thanks for sharing.

Thanks everyone. I don’t mean to hijack the promotion for the HOP, but Carolina Collie Rescue will always have a special place in my heart. Maybe it could come down to first place for HOP and 2nd for the Collies.

By the way, you can rest assured that the dog sitters that lost her never kept her again. With the help of technology and good volunteers I was able to find my sweet girl in such a short time without even being home. When I talked to the lady on the phone, I asked her what the dog looked like when she walked, and she said “she appears to float over the ground” … I knew then she had Lolly, because that is how she always looked. Just beautiful.

Rescue groups are so wonderful. Thanks Cat for the opportunity to share this story.

Hey Kerry – you did not hijack the promotion at all. Someone has to come in second! LOL.

Also, if I am not mistaken, I think that each time a rescue group goes through to the next bracket they win money. I need to go back and read the rules. So yes, we want Carolina Collie Rescue to get all the doe they can!

    I will keep everyone posted

    Love Cat
