There is nothing more important in life to Chaps and Emma than when their Grandpa comes down to visit with treats so this was just a perfect fit!

Grandpa is the best Grandpa ever for his grand dogs but he wanted Grandma to be in the picture!

Grandpa requested that I go out and get McDonalds fries for the kids and of course I did.

25.00 dollars will be sent to Basset Buddies Rescue of Texas in the names of:

Cindy, Jethro, Rugby, Ozzie and Harriet.

Of course it will be in honor of Chaps Rudert’s 9th birthday!

Thank you Cindy and hounds! This was so much fun! Slurp!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and going on mini car trip lovers! Well, we were supposed to do this on Chaps Birthday, yesterday, but it was too dang cold! So, today we are taking the Mayor and Emma to a little town about an hour from here called
Rabbit Hash!

This is the only other town that I know of that once had and has a dog for a Mayor! FOR REAL!

Lucy Lou is Elected New Mayor of Rabbit Hash

We are very excited because this is our first trip to Rabbit Hash. I cannot believe that we have never taken the kids there before.

The drive should be pretty and we will take lots of pictures.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Basset Hound Cake lovers! This is just to cool! Since it is Chaps birthday, I was looking around the internet for basset hound cakes and stumbled upon this. How in the world did I miss this?

A world renowned cake artist by the name of Michelle Wibowo, of Michelle Sugar Art, won the gold medal in the Patisserie Showpiece section of the 2008 International Culinary Olympics in Erfurt, Germany.

It is a lifesize realistic hound dog-shaped sugar sculpture . It took four days to complete and consume around 20kg (44lb) of sugar.

Here she is being interviewed after her gold medal win. Just breathtaking…..

What an pure delight to find this on Chaps Birthday. Make sure you check out the drool on the hound’s chop.

The one question that I have that I could not find the answer to, is why did she choose a basset hound. I bet she has one. I will send her an e-mail, along with this blog posting and try to find out.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Mayor Lovers! Today, 10-17-09 is the day of our dear Mayor’s birth. Chaps is 9 years old today. He just finished his birthday breakfast. I made some bacon and crumbled up a piece for him and Emma.

He ate out of the finest bowl!

Here is our Mayor as a baby eating with his litter.

Did you know that Chaps was second pick of the litter? LOL! I am sure I have told you that before. Chaps is on the left hand side of the chow ring. You can’t miss that full red coat!

His sister, Diamond and Rubies was first pick. Here is a picture of her.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Movie Pick of the Night lovers! It’s time to grab that hound and settle in for a good movie. I know my picks are something you have to find in advance so, you may not be watching this movie tonight, be we are! Make a note and a plan to see this flick soon.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Mutt Madness lovers:

This just in from Rachel Ray…..

Thank you for visiting Mutt Madness. We had a rough start to this first week due to many technical difficulties people were having with the site. Due to these problems, we will extend the program by one week, meaning this first week will not end on Monday night as originally planned but will end on Sunday, October 25th at midnight. On October 26th, the candidates that will move into round two will be displayed on the site. This extra 6 days will candidates more time to get friends and families in to vote and get comfortable with the blogs. Here’s an update on the technical issues:

Registration: You do need to register anew with rachaelray.com to vote. Previously you would register and then still need to login to vote. People were confused in thinking it would automatically log them in and wondered why they were still seeing the Login to vote button. We have changed this so immediately following registration, you are logged in.Buttons: Some could not see the Submit button on the registration and Voting Booth pages. This should be fixed.

Voting: When you go to vote for a bracket, you will notice a small pop up that shows more information about the organizations. Then you can click into either of the orgs to learn more. You need to close this window and go back to the original page with the Voting Booth to place your vote. This may seem confusing to some so we are trying to make this process smoother.

If there are any other problems, please do not hesitate to post your comments here. Thank you for your patience and good luck!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and old pictures of the girls lovers! A few blog postings ago I told my dear readers that I was going to look for an old Halloween picture of Chloe and Lily in their cute disco costumes. I did find some, but I am still looking for the one with Grandma and I in it as well. Anyway, look at this picture I found! It’s the girls laying on the couch. Grandma always made sure they each were right on their coverlets. It is so cute.

I think this picture was taken in 1998. How time flies…….
