Basset Hound Rescue is Human Rescue

November 25th, 2009 - 12:12 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Human Rescue Lovers: I have been reading about this person and his basset hound gal, Antigone for a few months now. Antigone was adopted by her human from Guardian Angel Basset Rescue. Please make sure you watch the entire video which is about 7 minutes long for a very important message at the end.

More being thankful for bassets hounds later…Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

What a beautiful video. You can tell that Antigone made a lot of friends and was always welcome wherever she arrived.

I think there is something special with adopted dogs, they have more understanding and there is something extraordinary about the love they give.

This hits too close to home, but is so true. I have been in this same position last year. Too many loved one deaths too close together, health issue and lonliness. But, I was always concerned that no one would love Bailey as much as me and he wouldn’t understand where I was. Having to take care of him, walk him, etc. forced me out of bed and out in the world. I always say that it is a good thing that he is not dry clean only, because he has absorbed so many tears, he would have been a pocket basset by now.

We think that we are taking care of them, but really, they are nuturing our souls.

This is a beautiful story. I know many times its been hard for me to be up beat. We had 2 barn fires in just one months time in 06, and I wasn’t sure how much I could take, then one of our beautiful gifts would make life easier.
Thanks Cat for sharing the story and showing us how many ways hounds touch lives.
    Happy Thanks Giving everyone

as a card carrying member of the mentally ill suicide is always a worrisome thing…its been close…sometimes too close for comfort.

what an amazing thing this man is doing…god bless him…and his hound!

sometimes it is the love of my dog(s) that has been the only thing that has kept me around to see the light of another day when teh pain has been to much to bear.

its an awesome video…suicide as well as just mental illness is such a forbidden topic..one that needs so much more awareness and compassion…and who better to do it than a recued houndette and her companion!
