Want to see who is right next to me, right now?

December 23rd, 2009 - 12:12 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and taking pictures with your lap top lovers. This is fun. I just took this picture of the Mayor sleeping on the couch next to me. It’s called photo booth.

Chapssleeping

Believe it or not, Emma is right next, next to me. All squeezed in. It reminds me of an old nick name I had for her. The white sliver. She could sliver into the smallest places.

Gotta love Photo booth!

Wait!!! The Mayor just moved, do we need another picture?

Just kidding.

Close the door, we are not heating the entire neighborhood!

December 22nd, 2009 - 9:09 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and heating the neighborhood lovers: Did your Mom or Dad ever say that to you? Well today I said it to the Mayor. Keep in mind that my feet are within reach of his rear end. Might I add, my freezing cold feet. Here is howl the Mayor stood for quite awhile today. All the while I kept saying, “Chaps, what are you doing?” He was half in and half out. He never does that.

Emma was even wondering what was going on. (Look at my cute shadow.)

IMG_4608

“Chaps, in or out, my feet and Emma’s paws are freezing!”

The Mayor decided to back, back in.

IMG_4615

The decision had been made. It was too cold to sprinkle.

“Mommy, I decided not to heat the entire neighborhood”!

Honeychild don’t you fret. Momma buy some warmer slippers.

Did someone say “Christmas Cookie”?

December 19th, 2009 - 5:05 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Christmas Cookie Lovers:

Well, you can sure say that Chaps and Emma are one of those. Well, I know that Cindy’s hounds are cookie lovers as well because she was so sweet and sent Chaps and Emma some of their favorite “nighty nite” cookies! Rugby, Jethro, Ozzie and Harriet all get one of these when they go beddie bye. You can see the box on the counter. They are carob and peanut butter. Look at those faces. My kids don’t get too many treats like this because of Emma’s allergies, but this is worth a benadryl!

IMG_4960

As you can also see Cindy sent us the Elder Clara Cookbook. All proceeds from that went to support Sr. Hounds Abound. We just love it. Very cute.

This is a close up so you can see Emma’s drool. Don’t want to miss that now, do we?

IMG_4959

This is where a picture is worth a thousand words…..

IMG_4963

Just look at those wild eyes! Each kid got a half.

Thank you Cindy, Jethro, Rugby, Ozzie and Harriet……

More Christmas cookies later…..Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

J is for Jenny, Jasmine, Janie, and JOY…..

December 18th, 2009 - 6:06 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and the letter J lovers: Sound weird? Well, let me explain this tale of JOY!

A few months ago, House of Puddles supporter Jenny Standridge sent in another package of gold items for the gold rush. Inside the package were some really cool rings. One of them looked like this!

IMG_4955

J was for Jenny! So, I put my thinking cap on and came up with a perfect way to showcase the ring! J would now be for a Sr. HoPper that hailed from Kentucky. Jasmine!

Jasmine

YES! Jasmine would be perfect to sell this ring in honor of! Sweet, sweet Jasmine.

So, I took the ring to my jewelery store and found out that it is 10K. Scrapped it would be worth about 14.00 dollars. It is very thin and dainty. Of course I was not going to scrap it. My jeweler told me to put it in the HOP boutique for about 30.00 which we both thought was very fair.

Low and behold, I could not get it off my mind. You see, my BFF is named Janie. We have been BFFs since kindergarten. Can you believe that?

chef janie

Well, today we had our holiday lunch at PF Chang and I gave it to her and explained the meaning behind it.

I could tell she loved it. I know she will cherish it. J is for Janie now.

More BFFs and loving the letter J later….Cat, Chaps and Emma

FaceBook Find, Snow Angel!

December 18th, 2009 - 12:12 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Snow Angel Lovers: I try to sniff around Facebook everyday and I am glad I did today! Look at this adorable drawing I found.

snowangel

I am not sure who the artist is but it was on a facebook fan page called THE DROOL IS COOL

From what I can gather, they are a screen printing business in Hanahan, SC. Here is the phone number:

1-843-554-3840.

Also, they posted that Carolina Basset Hound Rescue has this print in their Cafe Press Store.

I just adore the artwork. The artist should do Christmas Cards. If you know who the artist is, leave it in the comment section so we can tell them we love their art!

More FaceBook finds later….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
