Guess who I heard from???
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Blast From the Past Lovers! This morning when I logged onto the nets I had an e-mail from Buster’s Mom, Shelia! It was such a nice way to start the day. Buster is bassethoundtown’s very first ever rescue basset. He was rescued back in 2007. His life was the pits living in a crate about 20 hours a day with newspaper as his bedding. He had laid in ink so long it was permanently embedded in his beautiful white coat. What is wrong with people? Anyway, here is a picture of Buster and I the night I picked him up.
He is such a good boy. I was able to get him into Bluegrass Basset Hound Rescue and he was scooped up within days by Sheila. She said the Buster ran into her house and up the stairs with her other basset chasing him and they played for hours. Needless to say that Susan of BGBR left without Buster!
This is my favorite picture of our Buster.
Shortly after this picture was taken Chaps attacked the poor guy and from that moment on I knew I could not foster. It was not fair to Chaps and not fair to the foster. I gave it a try but it just was not worth Chaps anguish.
(or the life of the foster)!
Here is a video I did for our Buster….
BUSTER’S KY RAIN YOUTUBE VIDEO!
Thanks for stopping by Sheila! I hope you enjoy the items found in the boutique!
More keeping up with the residents later….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
I love stories with happy endings and Cat, bless you for making so many of these stories have happy endings.
We love you,
Kip, Gus, Bonnie and Charlie Bear
What a handsome boy and such a nice story. Way to go Cat, Sheila and Buster.
I can sure understand how you feel Cat. I shouldn’t have fostered either but I did. I put Jethro through heck that’s for sure. Poor guy. Everybody that we fostered took away a souvenir from Jethro. He tore open Harriet’s ear pretty darn good one time. I didn’t take her to the vet since it would have been expensive to sew her up and she was a rescue. Instead I put her in the tub twice a day and cleaned her ear and packed it with antibiotic cream. It looked really gross for a few weeks but I kept cleaning it twice a day since I couldn’t bandage it and it would get really dirty with hair and scab and dirt. Eventually it healed up nicely and I have to show people the scar. Harriet was scared to death of humans when we first got her and taking care of her ear brought her and I very close. She’s not scared of people anymore finally. Thank goodness!
Buster is a very lucky boy that he had Basset Hound Town cheering for him a new home.
You are so right–Buster was a very lucky boy that he had Cat cheering for him. I too was very fortunate that he came to me! He makes me
continually smile.
I wouldn’t worry about not being able to foster, I think Chaps and Emma just don’t want to share you. They know how special you are and they want to keep you for themselves.
Poor Jethro, I am so sorry that he was put upon, and poor Harriet’s ear.
You both made the right decision and you both have helped numerous hounds.
