Light a candle for our Floyd…

January 30th, 2010 - 10:10 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Floyd Lovers….

Our Floyd was not at the House of Puddles for very long but he was able to know love for 3 months.

I learned of his passing last night from Marilyn. She states,

“I didn’t have him very long, barely 3 months, and I’m so sad he never really got to enjoy his senior years. But I hope he knew he was very much loved while he was with me. At the vet’s office this evening, they put a quilt on the floor. I laid down on it a patted a spot next to me and he actually came over on his own and laid down next to me. I stroked and cuddled him till he went to sleep from the sedative, then we let him go to the Bridge.

Marilyn- You are so strong and so wonderful to take in these hounds and give them love no matter how long you have them. I don’t know how you do it. Thank you for loving Floyd and for making his passing so peaceful.

Dear Marilyn – As others have said, I don’t know how you do what you do. You have so much love and gentleness in helping the seniors day-to-day at HOP, and then to lovingly help them on their journeys to the bridge. Floyd had a hard life, but the last 3 months he wasn’t afraid. Thank you Marilyn.
