Emma would make any bird proud!
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Emma making her nest lovers…
I know, I know…..I have blogged about this many times but this nest must be shared! It should probably be put in some kind of museum. I think that when I find nests on the ground. They are always so pretty.
Anyway……
Here is Our Emma getting ready to start her piece of art….
I did not want to disturb her so I waiting until she was settled in her nest for this picture.
Here is an aerial view…..
Then she heard Grandma coming and that means a hasty re-“treat” to the kitchen!
And the art work is left behind….
More nest building later……Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
P.S. At no time did I make one effort to assist her in this effort!
She always makes the most perfect nests. Ozzie and Jethro just plop on top of pillows and they’re content. Harriet does a nest almost as good as Emma. Rugs has to paw at his blankets and pull them up with his teeth. Never have figured out why he has to do this but he’s managed to mutulate about 3 pillows doing that. That’s ok, he’s my sweet baby!
Slinky will scratch at the carpet to make her spot comfortable, of she will cuddle under a table. Slinky doesn’t seem to interested in blankets or towels.
Bailey will put the top of her head on her bed (I think to steady herself and for leverage) and just go to town digging the bed with her front paws. We call it “fluffing”. When she is finished she just plops down and lets out a big sigh–
“Whew-what a workout, I need a nap”
Gotta love a Basset!!!
Riley tries to fluff the carpet also, and she piles up our barn cloths for a bed. She is funny that way. Emma looks very sweet in her little nest.
OH, I forgot. When ours make their nest I call it “setting up camp”.
Awww bless her sweet heart! Emma looks so comfy in her nest!!!! Our Bassets often go round in circles a few times and rearrange their covers into a nest or a pillow to rest their heads!!!!
Cat and everyone… have you seen this story with a picture of a Cat who ‘adopted’ some Basset pups to feed, after their mother had no milk?

Sooo cute… and similar to the Basset who was feeding a litter of kittens (on You Tube) recently!
Isn’t nature so wonderful at times!
