When my Mom and I were at the Brown Hotel we went into the gift shop and found this cute item that we bought. It was 2 kitchen towels. We are each going to have one.
This is the tag so you can see the website if you want to go look. I did but I did not see these towels. I e-mailed the artist. If she responds I will update everyone. Here are the cute towels.
It is kind of hard to see so I will show you a better image. It is the same image but on her tote bag.
We just love the kitchen towels. I e-mailed her to see if the artist has a basset hound. There was actually another cute towel I found on her site that made me believe that she did. Here it is!
This is a kitchen towel also! It has a recipe for dog treats! Too cute!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and 3 word lovers. Have you ever seen that segment on ABC? It airs in the last minutes of their Friday broadcast. People send in tiny video clips of their 3 words and then if ABC picks you they link all of the clips together for an uplifting vignette. Here is last weeks vignette.
So, I thought it would be fun for Grandma and I to send in our 3 words to see if we get picked this Friday! It was so much fun. We took the kids to the park. I packed all of our paper and sharpies and we went to work. The kids were in charge of the 3 words!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and where does the time go lovers? It seems like yesterday to his Mommy and Daddy (Cindy and Ron) that their baby was just a pup stepping on his long record breaking ear!
Then seeing your baby looking at you like this! Just a youngster. So little and bright!
Now, it is 9 years later. A big beautiful boy just as bright but a bit larger and somewhat more gray!

I need to make sure that I have all the ingredients for some pup cakes. I’ve attached a picture of him that I took last week. He’s not doing too bad for 9. His eyebrows are gray and his face has some gray in it but I still think he’s a very handsome fella. Just for fun I’ve attached his pedigree. He’s the only one that has a pedigree and he’ll probably be the last since we’re now rescuing. Notice on his pedigree that his grandfather and great grandfather are champions. I thought that was pretty cool.

Oh Cindy your Jethro is a big part of our town and I am thrilled to let everyone know of his big day. That picture of himz stepping on his ear is one of my favorite ever! Just priceless. You should get it blown up poster size!
Also, while I am gushing over this photo I would like to remind everyone that Jethro holds the record in basset hound town for the longest ears! Now you can see even as a young pup he was gunnin’ for that title!

What is better than a Trooper update on a Saturday night? Well, not much! Basset Hound Town resident Maureen send Tropper a St. Patrick’s Day treat and here is the e-mail Tropper sent back!
Dearest Auntie Maureen –
I was SO happy to hear from you. Thank you so much for the sweet St. Patrick’s Day card – and WOW-OOOO delicious Duck jerky! When I opened your package, I had to stop and have a taste of the jerky right away! It was sooooo good that I had to have another one too – because I couldn’t believe how delicious it was! Thank you so much for sending it to me! You are so sweet!
I hope that you and Slinky had a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day too! It was rather quiet around here since it was during the week and my foster mom was at work all day. However, I am going to go to the Dog Park for the first time on Sunday because my mange is no longer contagious.
I actually have some peach fuzz in the areas where I had no hair before. My Foster Mom Ann laughs when she cuddles me and said that there was a Basset Hound underneath there after all!
I am starting to play with my Foster Brothers and Sisters now because I am feeling pretty good.
About 2 weeks ago, I was not feeling well at all though. My tummy was very upset and I couldn’t eat very well either. This caused me to lose a little weight. However, now I feel much better and I will get another topical treatment with Advantage tomorrow after I go to the Dog Park. I’ve decided that I really like being inside of a house – and so I have learning to be house-trained…except when it is raining outside! I would rather not get cold and wet feet if I don’t have to!
I am getting better and better now – and I wish that you would come and play with me. I will be going to go to my first Adoption event next weekend – but my Foster Mom says that it is just to say hello to everyone and show off my new fur coat! She says that I still need my Heartworm treatment and work done on my teeth (that were worn down and broken off from biting out of my metal cage) and that my eyes are still being treated.
However, I am so much better that I feel like a new Basset Hound! I never believed that I would feel this good 7 weeks ago – but you should see what good food, medicine, and lots of cuddling has done for me. I am a VERY happy dog right now and I just want to give my love to everyone!
Thank you so much for being so sweet to me – and for remembering me in such nice ways! My tail practically wags off when my Foster Mom tells me that you have sent me another card! I love hearing from you and hope that someday, I will get to give you some kisses and cuddles!
I hope that Cat is OK. I have not heard from her in a long time. I send my best drool and tail wags to all! Take care.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and going to Louisville Lovers….
My Mom and I love going to the big Louisville Dog Show that is held every year in March. Howl ever we have not been able to go for a few years.
So, we set off on this first day of spring to catch the really big show…..But, first things first! We drove directly to the Brown Hotel for a famous Hot Brown and a glass of Chardonnay! Oh dear me, it does not get any better than this for us!
The Hotel is just stunning. Here is a picture of the lobby.

The Hotel was built in 1923 as you can see.
The Hot Browns were amazing. If you are ever in Louisville please go. You will not be sorry!
Then it was off to the Dog Show.
After a few rounds I turned to Grandma and said, “where are all the big boys?” She laughed and said, “I think you are just used to looking at Chaps!” She was right!!! The Mayor is actually larger than life!
We ran into a few good friends. Mary Ann and Norman. This is their beauty, SKY!
Ah………Hot Browns and SKY. The first day of Spring was a hit!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Sunshine Lovers…..
Today was so sunny in bassethoundtown. 60 degrees and a hound walk was on our list!
First off, Emma made her way into her sunning position early this morning for the first time this year!
The Mayor loomed large from the top deck making sure she was safe!
Then Grandma and I harnessed up the kids and took off for a glorious stroll!
We walked to the Post Office and I sat with the kids while Grandma took a 10 minute power walk. Here she is coming back. Chaps was crying for her.
Then we walked to the bank and I parked everyone at a bench where I hooked up the kids and I took a 10 minute power walk.
Chaps and Emma do not power walk for the most part. That is until Chaps was tracking a big red dog down our street. Then I got another power walk in! Gotta love that cardio!
It was so cute at the end. For some reason Chaps knew that Emma was disoriented. He waited for her to catch up and touched noses with her. You should have seen her tail go wild! He was so proud of himself! I just love watching them.

Msgr. Jack Costello of St. Peter in Kirkwood will again lead the parish’s March 12 St. Patrick’s Day Parade as Grand Marshall. As in previous parades, Costello will be accompanied by his faithful Basset Hound, Jonah.
Just look at the pride in that hound’s face….Good Boy Jonah! May the luck of the Irish be with you and Mr. Costello…
