Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Lulu Lovers! Is she just not the cutest hound?
I was roaming around YouTube and saw this video showing casing this homeless beauty!
LULU THE SAN DIEGO BASSET HOUND
As stated in the video, San Diego 6 would keep her on their site until she was adopted so I went over and looked and she is still there.
What a beautiful girl!
More helping those looking for love later….Cat, Chaps and Emma
She is so pretty! Notice the ears. They’ve got some lace on them. I cannot understand why people give up their pets instead of finding a place that will take pets. But, I’ve never been in a situation where I had to give mine up and never plan to be.
I hope she finds a nice new home that understands Basset Hounds and their quirky ways.
I can understand the owners not being able to keep their hound. It costs more to have an animal at an apartment. Usually there is a large upfront cost for the deposit, between $300 to $1000. If you are going paycheck to paycheck, there is no extra money. I know. I’m an engineer w/o a job and having a very hard time even getting interviews. I work two part-time jobs that just barely keep me solvent.
There are alot of people in that situation right now and I know their tough choices.
Mary
There are so many things to consider. This young girl (Lulu) is only 8 months which means this family has only had her for a very short time. I hazard to guess they should have not had her in the first place.
I am just thrilled that Lulu is in a shelter that seems to care about her.
I would no more give up my hounds than my Mom. Family is family.
I would buy a tent a Walmart and move to the KY horse park. Actually, when I was younger I did just that with my German Shepherd, but that is a whole other blog!
Cat
I would do the same thing Cat! I had a situation where we evacuated for a storm. When some people were leaving their pets behind or dropping them off at animal shelters, I took mine with me. I had no idea where I was going and no idea if the motels would take my dogs. But I didn’t care. I packed like I was camping. Which ended up being good because a big group of us rented a unfurnished house. I had lawn chairs and cots for furniture and I had utensils and dishes to cook with. If there’s a will there’s a way!
I love her name and she is soo pretty, she deserves a very special family.
