Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Planting Tree Lovers……

This Father’s Day weekend would be a great time to plant a new tree in Dad’s name. It is a gift that will keep on giving to future generations.

I love this quote by Lord Orrery in 1749:

“Trees are the best monuments that a man can erect to his own memory. They speak his praises without flattery and they are blessings to children yet unborn.”

Again, the best time to plant a tree was 25 years ago – the next best time, Father’s Day!

So, here is to you Grandpa, aka Dad!

A beautiful Blushing Bride. A sweet tree that blooms with hibiscus flowers.

Chaps was watching from the window as we helped plant it.

We picked the center of the front of our home to plant it. Right where Grandpa always was.
Front and center.

Grandpa actually landscaped our entire home. Every bit of it. I know he would be proud of our tree.

Grandma, Chaps, Emma and I can see it from our front windows. We love it.

Here is Chaps looking over the backyard that Grandpa planted. It is really a joy to have such a beautiful landscape in his memory!

I’ve always admired your landscaping and never realized your Dad did it all. What a great job he did! That tree sounds beautiful.

I’ve never heard that saying but it’s very true. I planted some trees about 7 years ago and the 3rd year they did leap!

A tree will be a wonderful memory of your dad. I had the city plant a memorial tree in memory of my dad in Highland park just to the right of the house I grew up in. It has been 7 years now and I stop by to weed it and add birdhouses etc. It is a living memorial.

The is truly a beautiful idea. I often wish I purchased a house instead of a condo, I love to garden and planting a lovely tree in memory of my father would be so special.
