Bassethoundtown residents Cindy and Jethro go on a field trip for BBRTX
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and field trip lovers! Today, Cindy and Jethro, residents of BHT, went on a field trip to a dog show where BBTX had a booth!
Cindy and Jethro took some Lily Books that we donated in honor of BHT and all of it’s residents!
The theme of the booth was Texas and who did it up right? OUR JETHRO!
Himz is one good lookin’ cowboy! Yee Haw!
Guess who else was also there? Our Trooper!
Look howl good he looks. No one can look much better unless you dress up like a basset and your name is Ann and you are the foster Mommy of Trooper! LOL
Ann you are the best! That is so cute!
Here is our cute group all together! Cindy, I cannot thank you enough for these totally pawsome and wonderful pictures. I had so much fun looking at them. You are the best! I sure wish we were on the field trip with you!
This is my favorite picture! I just love it! Everyone looks so great!
More great gals and hounds helping BBTX later…Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
I was sooo very excited when I saw Ann and Trooper walk up! It was by luck that we were there at the same time because I wasn’t able to stay that long. Unfortunately Jethro starts crying when he’s ready to go and he gets louder and louder and I don’t have a choice but to do what he wants. But on the way out we did some walking to see the show dogs and I bought Jethro a yummy homemade doggie peanut butter and carob candy at one of the booths. He really enjoyed that! Ha! We had a blast! Even tho it was just Jethro and I.
I’m sure Lily’s books will sell. It’s such a beautiful book. Cat, I’m going to donate the one I bought to the library here in town. I was going to let my nephews and niece read it but my Mom said they are too destructive and will probably write in it and tear it up. So, I’m donating it to a place that will appreciate it and where it will get read a lot and the message of rescue will be learned by many.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU CAT, CHAPS AND EMMA!!!
What wonderful pictures! (I can hear Jethro’s whine from here … he’s so cute when he’s whimpering).
Trooper looks fantastic! So many people would have written Trooper off at first glance … so grateful to Ann for all the love and care you have given that sweet hound. He is simply beautiful.
You would know Kerry!
Jethro is just a big love. I especially like the cowboy hat he was wearing! How sweet!
OMD- Trooper looks like a brand new dog – how wonderful. and Jethro is the cutest cowdog I’ve even seen. Thanks for sharing.
Jethro you looked so cute in your cowboy hat! That basset costume was super! So nice to see Trooper doing so well, love his sweet face! Thanks to all for sharing the photos, it looked like a fun event.
I love the pictures:) Thanks for the Trooper update. Its always amazing how much he has changed. What a handsome hound he has turned into.
Hi Mama Cat – Thanks so much for posting the photos of all of us at the Reliant Dog Show. It was great meeting Cindy and Jethro! Jethro was so nice to me. He allowed me to borrow his great cowboy hat for the rest of the show. By the way, Jethro’s Mommy made both the cowboy hat as well as the vest that he has that matches. What talent!! It was perfect to help create the mood of our Texas-Western theme “Bassets on the Brazos” (Brazos is the name of the river that runs closest to Houston). Jethro was very nice to me – and can you believe that he loves belly rubs as much as I do?
My Foster Mom told me that she enjoys dressing up like a Basset Hound at our BBRTX events because it thrills children from 0-100! People come up to us and so she told them all about Basset Hounds, our history, how to care for us, our loving disposition and companionship traits, and she tells them my story too. Then she says, “See what a sweet and handsome Basset boy he is now? That made me feel pretty good! People loved getting their photo taken with “Bessie Basset” (my Foster Mom’s name when she is a Basset Hound – but she doesn’t want me to tell anyone – Shhhh!) and me! Their hugs were great – but the belly rubs were my favorite thing! I told them how much I appreciated it by giving them kisses in return. There was a professional photographer at the show who asked if he could photograph me with “Bessie Basset” – and I said yes. When I get a copy of it, I will send it to you.
Did you know that the show exhibitors who competed in the show frowned at “Bessie Basset” and me? – and not one of them said a word to either of us. I know that I don’t look like a show dog, but I was surprised that they had no sense of humor. “Bessie Basset” told me that I should not let it bother me – because they were just blind to my true beauty! It was OK because once we entered the rescue and vendor area, it was totally different. People laughed and talked to us – and told us how much they liked seeing us! At least we brought smiles to their faces! That is all that my Foster Mom, I mean “Bessie Basset”, said that we hoped for – to bring a little happiness to their day!
Thanks again for your love and support!
Your Trooper
Oh Trooper – It makes my heart sing to see you so happy and with such a wonderful Foster Mommy. She really is the best of the best. I was so excited when I saw her as Bessie! Don’t worry about those ole stodge show people, (residents excluded). Sometimes they just don’t get it. All that matters is that you and Bessie made the day of many, many nice folks. You sure made our day. And for the record, that Jethro is one in a million. He was so nice to share his cowboy hat with you. I am so glad you 2 got to meet each other and spread the word of basset hound rescue! I cannot imagine a better pair of ambassetors! Oh, and let’s not forget Bessie! hehehe
We love you Trooper, Bessie, Cindy and Jethro!
Cat, Chaps and Emma
Jethro, you can definitely give John Wayne a run for his saddle; and Trooper you just keep looking better and better each time I see you.
It looks like everyone had a great time.
