I just love all the cute expressions a hound can make. No words needed to know what they are thinking.

All hounds love walks. We took Bumper and Abby to the college cross country meet at VOA park in West Chester yesterday. It was nice and sunny as we walked the course watching the runners. Then the sky got black and we were caught in a downpour. Bumper HATES water except in his bowl so he was sprinting back to the car. He tripped when he stepped on his ear and fell – now today he is limping. Hope his leg is better soon.

Awwww, poor Bumps! He probably just pulled a muscle. I’m sure he’ll be fine.

Bailey does that too. Just say the word “walk” or “outside” and his whole body wiggles. It is so bad that I can’t say it until I’m absolutly, positively ready to get out the door, otherwise, the poor guy will wiggle all his spots off.

Candy I totally hear what you are saying. I try not to say it too early either. This is really funny. When I do say “walk” both kids go to the water bowl and drink a gallon each. It is like they want to make sure to have plenty of tinkle for the trip. I know exactly what they are doing! hehe

Judy – oh no! I feel so sorry for the big boy. That just makes me sad thinking of himz running to the car and tripping. Give him a massage tonight!

It really is a language. Dogs can talk and you can understand them if you just learn to look.

Cat- I totally agree with you about learning to understand dogs by watching them. I have learned soo much about reading body language since I started working at a doggie daycare. It really is very interesting.

Whenever Slinky hears me get my keys she lines up at the door thinking we are going out for a walk or ride (she enjoys both).

I think the looks that Chaps and Emma give you say “need you ask”!

Sorry about Bumber’s accident, I hope he is doing the Basset gallop soon.
