If it’s not one thing, it’s another;(

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and not another thing not lovers!!!!!!!!!

I am just shaking my head, just like Chaps and Emma with their allergy problems. Yesterday Grandma and I took the kids on a trial run for the big Blue Ridge Parkway Vacation. We put the travel beds in the car and took off!

We wanted to find a place to eat outside so the kids can get used to being hooked up and all the folks coming up to us and come up they did! NON STOP!

As you can see from this picture, the kids were swarmed.

We had a great time Butt…….When we got home Chaps started acting really strange. When he tried to get into bed he acted like a bee was stinging him on his face. Oh, for the love of Dog… now what?

So, I called Grandma and she came down stairs with her magnifying glass so we could look at his face. After about 20 minutes of conversation we thought it might be something that his snout picked up, like a sticker. We know it was not a bee sting because he is allergic.

You may not see what we thought we saw but it is a little black dot. It was a real fiasco.

I had the tweezers and the magnifying glass and Grandma was holding himz. We had no idea if this was even the reason that he was acting funny. But we think it worked.

Himz got in his bed tonight without acting funny!

I feel like his Tony the Tiger Toy! GREATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!

Do I have to bring the magnifying glass with us on our trip?

More loving the fact that maybe I got a sticker out of the Mayor’s snout later! Cat, Chaps and Emma

pack lots of benadryl, some prednisone & other allergy stuff…# of emergency vets along the way…etc…just to be on the safe side..also snake bite info…along with the gasx, pepto etc.. i always bring along the zrytec too since sometimes it seems to work better than the old standby..

make a first aid kit & put it in a bright colored bag so that in case of an emergency you can tell someone to grab the red, yellow ornage etc bag & they will find it easily. write on outisde of bag that dogs are allergic to whatever meds etc & emma is blind. & if they take any special meds.

Good idea Lois! Sounds like you have a fantastic emergency kit. If it’s not too much trouble could you list all the human stuff that we can give our hounds and how much and for what? I’d love to print it and make up an emergency kit for our outings.

Poor Chaps. Cat, you and Grandma are so funny. I’m betting that he just had a itch and you guys giving him attention fixed it. Ha!
