Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Gotcha Day Lovers: Well, 16 years ago today I found my Lily. AKA The Pad, The Child, Our Little Cow, Baby Seal Pup, and the list goes on an on of her fun loving names!

I know many of you know her story but I will link to it just in case you want to read it for the first time or again.

ST. FRANCIS DAY IS TODAY – LILY’S GOTCHA DAY IN 1994

If you have the Senior Hounds Abound Calendar you will see Lily on her day.

She was the softest Basset Hound I have ever had the pleasure of petting. We also called her our chinchilla hound. She would sit by my side for hours, leaning on me as she fell asleep. She would position herself so my hand was on her head. She actually could flip your hand to land on her body. It was so cute.

Here she is laying where Chaps worry bed is now.

I thought she looked so pretty laying in that stream of sun light.

More missing the sun light of my life later…..Cat, Chaps and Emma

Lily was the luckiest hound in the world to have you stumble in to her life. I love the story. Lily lives on forever!

I don’t know the full story, but I will definitely read it. Lily looks like the happiest and softest Basset in the world. You, Your Mom, Your Dad and Lily sould like a lively team.

Who knows, without Lily, there may have been no Emma, Mayor Chaps, or Bassethound Town. We have alot to thank her for.

I’ve been home sick today, but I noticed that Hannah had her Lily book out today. I just asked her why and she said “because she’s on Chap’s calendar today” (she has the senior hounds abound calendar in her room).

    Hannah doesn’t miss any detail!

With the Mayor featured in October, I’m not sure I will be able to convince her to turn to November when it’s time!

OM – His big mug gives me such joy every day. I am going to frame mine. That might work for Hannah! Or just use it like a poster! Listen to me, the proud Mommy. If I could I would probably have wall paper made! hehehe
