Off weeeeeeeeee go!
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and weeeeeeeeeeee lovers! I cannot believe that today is the day of our trip. We have been planning this adventure for about 7 months. The timing worked out great because I was able to have a friend of mine come and stay at my home. He is doing some much needed maintenance around the homestead. His wife is looking for a job in the area so it is going to be a win win for all of us.
We loaded up early and off weeeeeeeeeeee went like a herd of turtles!
Charleston, WVA here we come!
We packed a lunch and a dinner. The kids did so good. They were so comfy in their beds. Chaps had his worry bed and I bought Emma one to match.
Emma had a bit of a ruff time when Grandma left and went to her room next door.
As you can see I am watching Project Runway…Love it!
She finally gave in and explored the room.
I cannot tell the residents howl absolutely incredible Emma is doing with all of these new places. She is such an inspiration.
Of course her security blanket did not hurt! LOL
OMD! I am so excited about the 30 item free breakfast tomorrow!
More dreaming of waffles later…..Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
So happy to see you all relax and have fun! Pet the houndies for me!
Awww bless their hearts…. your pictures always give me a warm fuzzy feeling! :o))
How exciting! I’m sooooo glad you can blog while traveling. I look forward to the rest of the trip! Hope everyone got a good nite sleep. Looks like Chaps and Emma weren’t having a problem.
Hmmm…does the Mayor know about the breakfast buffet?? You might be up at 4:00AM to be first in line. LOL. Can’t wait to hear about your adventures coming up. Shh…I fell asleep so didn’t see the end of Runway–will have to catch it later.
I hope you all have a wonderful time. I also think it is especially thoughtful of you to bring a few things from home for Our Mayor and Our Emma. Vacation holidays are the best, but having a few comforts from home make things better.
By the way, Michael C won last night. I am so glad because so many of the other designers had been so mean and cruel to him. He showed them! I hope he goes to the finals. I don’t like Gretchen! It is one thing to be confident and talented, but it is quite another to be a know-it-all and trash other people. I hope she doesn’t go to the finals. As for the other designers, some I like but I don’t care for many of there designs. I am glad Casanova and Ivy are gone. I wish Valerie had made it to the finals.
As you can tell I’m a fan of the show.
wow! the epic journey begins! good for miss emma…i knew she would handle things ok…once she realized grandma was ok she would be ok…i tell people that all the time when i work with them training or when their dogs stay over for the 1st time…if you are calm & settled then your dogs will more than likely be the same.
enjoy! have fun exploring…follow these 2 rules of lema trips:
1. follow what steinbeck did in travels with charley…gotta let the dogs pee in every new state. it’s the law. have done that since college with every dog i have owned. i make it a point to stop & let them out to pee…just because…sorta like a doggie postcard for those to follow…
2. do something new & different each day that you might not do normally..be it eating something new or trying something odd or what ever. if you like it great, if not well then you know for next time. this way you have something to remember for each day.
most of all enjoy the dogs & have fun
Hi Cat……can’t wait to go on this trip with you (in photos that is). How Fun that Chaps will be spending his Birthday on Vacation. Keep the blogs and photos coming! We love you!
I just love all of these comments. I really enjoy reading each and everyone! I am sitting in my hotel room in Lexington, VA and the kids are all tucked in. I am working on a blog about the past 2 days.
We are having sooooooooooo much fun!
