I just got outbid on UK e-bay!

January 8th, 2011 - 1:01 pm KY Time

Howllo and Cheers fellow basset hound lovers!

This morning I received a google alert about 2 listings on UK ebay. It said something like ladies shoes/purse with basset hound on them or something like that. A purse is not that unusual but shoes?

bassetshoes

Aren’t they cute? They are supposed to be a ladies size 7. It’s not even my size but I thought for the right price I could put them in my own boutique or take them on the road for when I have a booth at the Nationals or at a future waddle. Here is the purse that also has a long shoulder strap. It is bassetabulous.

bassetpurse

Both items are now around 40 bucks a piece. The bidding ends in about 4 hours. Here are the listings in case any one is interested. I’m not sure what I am going to do. I don’t think I have bid on anything on ebay is a blue moon.

BASSET SHOES

BASSET PURSE

I will let you know what happens, but feel free to bid if you want to. I loving sharing fun stuff!

I found a fun new blog! It’s called A BASSET HOUND IN CAPE TOWN

January 7th, 2011 - 8:08 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and new blog lovers. I was surfing the net the other day. I decided to google basset hound town. I wanted to see what came up. LOL! It was kind of fun. Anyway, a few pages down I found this really cool new blog called:

A Basset Hound in Cape Town!

Gotta love Google….

It’s about Charlie! A girl basset!

This is Charlie with her Dad. She got too tired to walk home and needed a lift!

Charlie’s Mom states….

“Three months ago, my partner of eight years, Jonathan, and I moved (along with our basset hound and cats) from Toronto, Canada to Cape Town, South Africa. We are here for a year (maybe longer as Jonathan completes his LLM at UCT.

I am a travel, food and beverage writer as well as a copy editor so I can work from pretty much anywhere. That is, I can work when I am not staring out the window at the beauty that surrounds us here. Or spying on the sunbirds and sugarbirds picking at the oranges I put out for them in my garden-my winter garden. Yes, winter here has just ended but greenery and nature abound! I won’t miss the Toronto winter.

We have fallen in love with Cape Town and this blog is basically to keep our friends and family abreast of our goings-on and to convince those not already planning to visit (you know who you areou dummies), to get the hell down here. It is stunning. And cheap. And there is lots of amazing wine. Cheap wine. And animals. Cool animals. And food. Oh God, the food. And penguins. And yet more wine”

Sandra, blog writer!

Sandra has another blog called

A Canadian in Cape Town.

I really enjoy this blog as well. Really, very fascinating.

I was wondering what other blogs my readers read? Would you please let us know in the comment section. I will add a few of the other blogs I read in comments as well. I am going to add Charlie’s blog to my blog roll. I love her. What a sweet hound.

More wondering about blogs later….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

January 6th, 2011 - 10:10 pm KY Time

Howllo fellow basset hound and sad news haters…..

Bella, Emma’s sister did not make it. Bella died from cardiac arrest after her surgery to remove a cancerous thyroid tumor. Bella, was only 6 years old and was the light of her family’s life.

Bella2

Bella was Emma’s sister.

We loved her.

We hold her family in our hearts

(((((((Lyn and family))))))))))

They are crushed beyond belief. 6 is way too young….

We love our family…..

More lighting our candles later…….Cat, Chaps and Emma

P.S. Out of 4 girls in this BoBac litter Emma is the only one alive at 6 years old and she is blind. I know one of the 2 boys is blind. This is not right! I am furious!

Emma’s last remaining sister needs some drool

January 6th, 2011 - 9:09 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and loving Emma’s sister lovers…

Wow, it has been quite the journey with Emma’s litter as many of my readers know. Just a few days ago I got word that Emma’s last remaining sister, of four, at age 6 has been diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer. Bella has undergone a tumor removal today and we are waiting to hear if it has spread.

bellaemma'ssister

Can you believe howl much she looks like Shimlette?

I am devastated for Bella’s Mommy. She is so worried. Her and I don’t keep in touch much but we do let each other know if there are health issues.

It actually kills me that I cannot live next door to Bella. I really love her. But…we are a country apart. Emma in KY and Bella in WA state.

I will keep everyone posted. Poor Bella:(

Here she is looking for her Christmas gifts!

The King’s Speech was Sublime…..

January 6th, 2011 - 7:07 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and wondering about the King’s Speech Lovers.

OMD! Grandma and I went to see this movie today and we loved it. The word sublime was used in the actual movie twice that I caught and it is the perfect word to describe this masterpiece.

Grandma and I were enthralled. This movie was right up our alley!

We were 2 hours late feeding the kids dinner and they were none too pleased. Chaps actually came down a bit hard on the hand that had a few fries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He wants it to be know to all of his subjects…..

“There is only one KING!

The Real King…..”

The real KING

And there is no stammer in his howl!

More loving the word sublime later….Cat, Chaps and Emma

British Basset Hounds become millionaires;)

January 4th, 2011 - 9:09 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and winning the lottery lovers!

Basset hounds Mom and Dad

A YORKSHIRE couple said the one million dollar lottery win would save their home!

Grandparents Derek and Sandra Streets faced losing the bungalow in which they had planned to spend the rest of their lives with their 2 basset hounds Lily and Harry and a King Charles Spaniel named Ozzie!

Quotations manager Derek had been forced to remortgage the two-bedroom property after the company he worked for went bust, owing him thousands in wages.

Now he and Sandra, who celebrate their ruby wedding anniversary this July, can afford to stay close to family and friends – and the local pub – in Scarborough, for good!

“We don’t want a mansion and do want to stay where we are. The win has meant we can stay there forever now.”

The hardworking couple, who have not had a holiday for five years, plan to use the win to get away.

A new car and a motorhome to tour the country with their three dogs, basset hounds Lily and Harry and King Charles spaniel Ozzie!

END OF ARTICLE…..

SOUNDS LIKE HEAVEN TO ME!

I wish I could interview them. Too bad there were no pictures of the hounds. Lily and Harry will be living like real princes and princesses now! hip, hip and cheerio mates! OK, so will the King Charles Spaniel Ozzie who already has a title!!! hehehe

More loving happy endings later….Cat, Chaps and Emma

P.S. I wish I had a local pub!

If a door is closed a hound wants out…No matter what!

January 3rd, 2011 - 9:09 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and wondering why if Mommy is in the room, the hound wants out of the closed door lovers…..

I just don’t get it! I was back in the office with Chaps and Emma. The door was closed because Grandma was sweeping some dirt and dog hair out of the front door. It was an odd 40ish degree day.

You would think that Shimlette would want to be with Mommy?

IMG_1266

Who cares that Grandma is sweeping out dog hairs at the front door?

Emma does!

She sat in that odd squat for about 10 minutes!

P.S. do you think that is an odd squat? tehehehehe

It was her dog hairs that were being swept!

More Poor Emma behind a door later! Love, Cat, Chaps and Shimlette!
