Football not your thing? Well, do I have a treat for you!

February 6th, 2011 - 1:01 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and not loving football lovers. I NEVER watch football and probably never will. I might tune in to half time to see the Peas. Anyway, do I have a treat for you. While all of the TVs in your house are on the football channel you can watch 6 hours of PBS – Masterpiece Theater. Yes! This is a stunning, sweeping, spectacular period piece called – Downton Abbey.

I highly recommend that you take some time and read the website. Make sure to read the interview by Julian Fellowes, writer and director. He sets up his masterpiece very nicely.

The entire 6 hours is on line and runs in 4, 1.5 hour episodes. Howl ever! It is only on line until the 22nd of this month. Then, it will be gone.

Here is the link to all 4 of the episodes:

DOWNTON ABBEY EPISODES 1 THRU 4

Just as a side note. Downton Abbey will continue with 8 more episodes in September of this year. I will notify everyone when they are on.

More loving PBS later….Cat, Chaps and Emma

P.S. I now refer to Chaps as his Lordship……

and Emma as her Ladyship…….

peace on earth

P.P.S. You can thank me later…..

Yours truly, Cat AKA, the handmaiden to his Lordship and her Ladyship!

Gretchen and I absolutely love this series. Stunningly well done, like so much on Masterpiece.

Dang guys! I missed the bassets!

    Bruce –

I am sure you and Gretchen will be tuning in to the remake of Upstairs Downstairs. Grandma was not quite sure howl they could ever match the original that was aired back in the 70s in over 60 episodes. I looked at the preview and it looks good and we will be glued.

I think PBS should run shows like this 24/7. Howl cool would a documentary show of Highclere Castle be? The history is fascinating.

Oh, I could go on and on. I better get back to his Lord and Ladyship!

Well Cat, Hannah will tell you … “Mommie LOVES football!” Actually, I prefer college ball, but any football is better than no football.

I like to watch football when the “home” team is playing and winning. Other than that, I could do without. Ronald bought 2 sets of squares for yesterday’s game and of course we lost. Oh well!

I was watching this for the last few weeks. It is a beautiful period piece, but I can’t believe the behavior of some of the sisters. I also feel sorry for women that have been so pressured to marry.

Maureen I know what you mean. I am from a family of 3 sisters and I found their behavior shocking. What is even more shocking are the English Laws.

I am sad it is over and I can’t wait for the next 8 episodes!

My Mom was helping clean my kitchen yesterday and I was up on step ladder with a long stick with a rag rubber banded at the end trying to reach the back of a glass shelf. I told her that we needed a few of those Downton Abby maids. She said why? You have me! LOL! I guess all I am missing is a bell!
