Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Muffin Lovers! Yum….Muffins! Today, Grandma and I went out with one mission – finding the perfect Muffin! LOL!

Yes, she has a lace ear!

Meet Muffin! I had been contacted by the Campbell County pound about this girl. She was listed as a 12 year old basset hound/jack russell mix. Hum??? Basset hound? No, not a drop. Howl ever, I could not get Muffin or her her story out of my mind.

Muffin is 12 years old with a corn allergy. Not a huge candidate for adoption as we all know. I followed her for a few days and I knew that she was not going to die at the pound. I would come up with something.

Muffin was adopted from this very pound 12 years ago. Almost 12 years to the date she was returned. Turns out that the girl who Muffin was adopted for was leaving home for “school”?. After the girl was dropped off so was Muffin…..at the pound.

So, this past Thursday I made my daily call checking on the old girl. Turns out an all breed rescue picked her up. I was so excited because that means that she will not be in jeopardy or in risk of being a statistic. I called the foster mom and found out she was going to be at a local Petsmart today for an adoption event.

Grandma and I had a Muffin on our menu today! We loaded up in the BHV and drove over to commiserate with the elder!

She is such a great old gal. Very frisky for 12 years old! She is so sweet.

I have a connection with Muffin for some reason. Maybe she was a basset in a previous life! hehehe

I told the foster Mom I would come and take pictures of her and see if I could spread the word about our Muffin.

The good news is that Muffin had someone coming to see her today that was really interested in her. Paws crossed!

I will keep all of the residents posted on Muffin. She is with a fabulous foster Mommy. I really like her!

More about Muffin later…..Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

Cat, you are pawsome for helping Muffin, who’s cute as Christmas! But she could possibly have basset in her–perhaps Petite Basset Griffon Veneen???? Check out the pic of this doglet (hope the link works): http://blogs.dogster.com/dog_of_the_day/2010/12/06/barney-a-dandie-dinmont-terrierpetit-basset-griffon-vendeen-from-kapoleioahu-hi/ !
Muffin is truly baroooootiful and looks like a young whippersnapper to me, despite her venerable years!:)

Mary, her foster mom suggested that as well. I totally agree! PBGV. I love that breed. The coat is very similar and that link looks just like muffin from the side.

She is so sweet! I am glad you got to see her and one look into those eyes was probably all it took for you to feel a connection! PBGV definitely!
