Irish Blessing for the bassets of bassethoundtown!
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Irish Blessing Lovers…..
I found this on the internet and thought I would share with all of the residents, today, this St. Patrick’s Day, 2011
May your Master love you dearly,
And keep you in his care.
May your days be filled with freedom,
To hunt the brush for hare.
When the hunt is over,
And your Master calls you in,
May you shower him with kisses,
And slobber on his chin!
For hounds who live with city folk,
May your need to track a scent be fulfilled
With toys and treats and daily jaunts
To parks and trails where nature flaunts
The wild adventure you long to share
With hounds and humans everywhere.
So while you bless the human race
With your kind and gentle love and grace
May you be blessed with many days
Of soaking up the sunshine rays
And many nights of peaceful sleep
Safely next to your Master’s keep.
Isn’t that cute? I am a huge fan of 4 leaf clovers and actually look for them everywhere!
This morning I even had an Irish Coffee with the Mayor in my clover mug!
I love it because there is only one 4 leaf clover on it! You can probably see it!
May the Luck of the Irish be with you today and always!
More loving clover later….Cat, Chaps and Emma
Lovely poem! I see the 4 leaf clover!
Gee, with a name like Doyle I should have realized today was St. Patty’s day but forgot! I didn’t even wear green to work! At least nobody has pinched me yet.
That’s right Mrs. Doyle! Or is it O’Doyle? hehehe
Have a green beer in honor of us tonight!
Nope, just Doyle. Now whether it was O’Doyle at one time or not I have no idea. Unfortunately my husbands family that would know this is all dead and they weren’t a close bunch so I’ll never know.
I’ll have that beer for ya tomorrow nite ok? It won’t be green but it’ll be just as good! I don’t drink on work nites.
What a beautiful poem. I think you all have such a wonderful Irish spirit.
Enjoy St. Patrick’s Day.
When I was in high school I had a Home Economics nun who would plan a monthly event for lunch or breakfast. Holiday cooking for Italian, German, Spanish, Polish, etc. themes. I guess she never heard of corn beef and cabbage, because we came into breakfast of Irish Green oatmeal! Yuk! It looked like mold or fungus.
I still enjoy and Irish Coffee or Green River Soda.
Maureen you crack me up! Green oatmeal? That WOULD look gross. I eat it every week day for my health. Not cuz I like it that much!
That does sounds disgusting. Cindy have you tried McDonalds oatmeal yet? I can’t get force myself to. I love me a sausage McMuffin’!
No, haven’t tried McDonald’s oatmeal. I doubt I ever will cuz I’d rather have the fattening greasy stuff if I go there! I like the egg McMuffin with canadian bacon. I also like all their biscuit sandwiches. I got one of their breakfast burritos the other day and there wasn’t much in it. I was disapponted.
